I have a level 120 and a level 90 on the same account. I also have a level 115 on another account. I'd like to get a Shimmering Black Pearl from the 16th Anniversary group task "Pirates of Timorous Deep" for the level 90. According to https://special.eqresource.com/piratesoftimorousdeep.php , the task locks after you kill Captain Turek but before you loot his corpse. If I kill Captain Turek with my levels 120 and 115, then switch the 120 for my 90 and /taskadd him with the 115, will I be able to zone in, loot the map and finish the quest?
Get the task with your lvl 90, pass task leader to someone else in gorup, swap to your 120 get a taskadd and do the event (both toons in task now) at the end after chest is opened swap to your 90 zone in and loot. Should work.
No it means that is the step that locks the task on completion. Request, camp, ta, camp back, run task, camp, loot.
Thanks, I'll give it a try. I wish I could do it on 115 alone, but the final fight requires either positioning or a very fast kill and the 115 is not the right class for that.
As said, that task locks when (when, not after to be more clear) you kill Captain Turak. So, no, you can't task add anyone once Captain Turak is dead.
Just so you know its supposed to scale to the highest member in the group. I usually take my 2 high guys with their mercs and the lower guy just hangs out in the back ground as we run to the mobs. Take your time and its very doable. Just take some rez tokens or something to rez the 90 in case he dies in the final part. Read thru these two for some good tips on this. Get the task with the 115 and have him add both the 90 and 120 so all three are in at the start. I think the max level difference is 30, so you should be okay in this case.
Don't dwell too much on it. If you do it - great, enjoy the pearl. If not - oh well, back to leveling up your 90 alt. The pearl seems awesome at level 90, but not that really great at 106+. Team up your lvl 115 and 90, head to Dead Hills. Grab Descending Tower task from Captain Russel (it's the most exp). Zone it and let your lvl 115 do the work. Before the last "hail" start the Lesson and grab double-experience. Immediately jump back to "no-timer" zone like PoK or Guild Hall/Lobby. Head to Katta Castrum: Deluge (TDS, lvl 105 zone) through guild portal. Start killing shissars with your 115 with your 90 in tow. Use tank/dps merc on 115 and healer merc on your 90. Under Lesson you'll be getting 0.8-1.2% per kill on your 90. Mobs die really fast to your 115. You can easily grab 2 levels in a single Lesson. It will slow down toward lvl 100, but is still worthy. The server experience bonus is coming, you need your lvl 90 to be at 100 asap. ToV TA's can get your lvl 100 into lvl 110 zone without a single fight in 1 weekend. You'll do TA's the same way as suggested in this thread.
