Broken Key of Lava

I was able to get this quest today but when I went to Lava Storm Mountains there were no Magma Rockpiles in the zone. I even went as far as to add the locations in my map and still nothing. Is this event over and if so why was I able to get the quest? I was able to complete the The Broken Key of Sands though. What's the deal?

Were there others in the zone perhaps doing the task? When you destory one to spawn the mob, it's takes a while for them to respawn.

No one was in the zone. Just me and my wife for at least 15mins of looking. I kept checking.

I saw rock piles still today and did the quest. Look in the northwestern area of the zone (there's 4-5 there)
