Things I dislike about the UI

    New players, even uber players, don't see invites.
    It is always a must for me to /tell I sent you an invite.

    Tabbed windows, windows on top of windows aid in the missing of important things like tells ect for new players.
    I understand it makes text smaller realestate and great for raiding but with new players it is very confusing.
    I don't use them.

    Hotbuttons. New players don't know how to make a hotbutton ( drag things over to it ).
    Hotkeys. New players don't know how to make a hotkey.

    Fading window. new players don't know how to do that.

    Basically, a lot of things new players don't know how to do and tutorial doesn't cover it.

    The Join button perhaps should glow red when getting an invite.

    Should be a pop up like for raid invites.

    Number one issue - more than all the grey model stuff. The inventory always opening and covering up EVERYTHING by ALWAYS BEING ON TOP.
    Can we have an option for inventory to only open when we want it to?!
    Make it so inventory never auto opens?

    All you have to do is turn off the new UI engine. In the alt+O menu. Uncheck the box.

    If you really don't ever want the inventory window to open, just open it, minimize it, drag it to a corner. It will open, but it will be a tiny rectangle in the corner you probably can't even see.

    A UI should be responsive in 2024.
    (responsive design means the ability to scale all elements on multiple devices with different resolutions)

    While you can scale some elements in EQ, you have to do this element by element, which is incredibly time consuming and offputting.

    My other half has an ingame Audio Trigger set up for invites.

    Or just don't put it in an inconvenient spot.

    With a standard 1920x1080 screen, you can easily arrange it so it's not opening in a bad spot, or covering other windows you need.

    This is why they are making the new UI.

    Well, I'm assuming the person complaining has a small screen, otherwise I doubt it would be an issue. I have experienced this when using a laptop.

    I had to turn off the ui as i was unable to open my inventory bags unless i redid the ui scaler everytime i logged on pretty annoying.

    I hate this too. Something you can do to make the inventory slighting less annoying is to add the Minimize Box to it, then minimize it.

    In EQUI_Inventory.xml scroll all the way to the bottom and change it. It's set to false by default.

    <Screen item="InventoryWindow">
    <RelativePosition>false</RelativePosition>
    <Location>
    <X>100</X>
    <Y>50</Y>
    </Location>
    <Size>
    <CX>434</CX>
    <CY>522</CY>
    </Size>
    <Text>Inventory</Text>
    <TooltipReference>Inventory</TooltipReference>
    <DrawTemplate>WDT_Rounded</DrawTemplate>
    <Style_Titlebar>true</Style_Titlebar>
    <Style_Qmarkbox>true</Style_Qmarkbox>
    <Style_Closebox>true</Style_Closebox>
    <Style_Minimizebox>true</Style_Minimizebox>
    <Style_Border>true</Style_Border>
    <Pieces>IW_Subwindows</Pieces>
    </Screen>
