Moors of Nokk raid, "Don't Get The Axe"

In The Moors of Nokk raid, What Is It For, the purple aura for the axes isn't behaving correctly. If a player touches the edge of the aura, they fail the achievement but don't take any actual axe damage. If the edge of the aura hits the NPC, it doesn't count for hitting the NPC. The actual center axe needs to hit the NPC for that to count. This means even though the axe hits the NPC, players nearby to melee touch the aura and fail the achievement. It should behave the same for players and the NPC.

If you're putting players other than the tank near the boss when axes are up maybe you need to rethink your strategy.

You can be in melee range or also be tethered to him when he does his gravitational pull, and still avoid the axes. If you put the commander between you and the axes.

Doesn't change how I described the behavior as being inconsistent. We follow the same strategy as most people and win the event just fine. It's just this one aspect that needs a tweak.

Yep, we follow this strategy as well. But just having the aura touch you fails the achievement. Being pulled into him even though the axes are on the other side puts you in range of the purple aura.

The main point is the aura behaves differently for players vs. the NPC. It only counts for hitting the NPC if the actual central axe hits him. Why not when the aura touches him? For players, the aura hits you and it fails the achievement immediately even if you didn't touch the axe and take damage.

The function of the axes is to help the npc and hurt the player. When the npc touches the center of the aura he turns it off. When the axes outer edge touches the player it cuts him.

That's not actually true though. Touching the purple aura does NOT cut you. You take no damage unless the axe hits you. The achievement is for not getting hit by the axes.

Please read the thread. This was already discussed and acknowledged.

Again, the point isn't about strategy. We already do what others here are suggesting and completing this achievement is inconsistent, at best. This is because of how the aura and axe function as two separate things.

Point is though that the axes are on his side so you cant expect them to act the same to him as they act to you.

Would make it much simpler if he did not do the Gravitation pull to him when axes are up.

Definitely agree there. Even if they didn't change that, it wouldn't be an issue if they just made the failure on the axe hit.
