What does making things no drop and players selling looting rights have to do with the number of players who use the bazaar or chat channels?
Picks only help if there are enough players to spawn them and keep them active but even that doesn't solve all the problems. Also it isn't a matter of "playing" the game or not rather the issue of how you get the loot and making everything no trade prevents passing down of early loot. That makes more people need to camp the item which can make it harder to get.
The server is very healthy and will be listed as high population. Spawning picks should not be an issue.
You can pass it down to your alts. You just can't get on baz and then RMT for days (as easily as say Mischief)
What server is very healthy? This is a discussion about rules for a new server and it is just speculation that a server with most things being no trade would be popular or not. Considering how many people always as for a free trade server I question the popularity of making most things no trade. And just because there are a lot of people on a server doesn't mean that there are enough in an induvial zone to spawn picks and in those picks to keep them open.
First, not everyone has alts that they want to pass things down to. Second there is a big difference between making everything free trade like Mischief and making things that are normally tradeable no drop.
You're nit picking again. The server will be healthy. It's a new TLP. Plus oakwynd and yelinak are going to be toast. You don't need to fight the battle to keep the status quo.
So why do they need to worry about handing stuff off? You agree to disagree. Should i let you post after this so you have the last word?
Because the issue isn't just about handing things off to alts on the same account rather acquiring them for characters on different accounts. Now every account that wants/needs an item will need to camp it instead of just buying a normally tradeable item when other players no longer need it. This increase demand will make the number of players camping it higher which will in turn make it harder to get. Not to mention you will have cases when multiple items may drop from an area and one drops that no one needs causing it to rot instead of being used by someone else.
What evidence is there to support that a server with most things no trade will be healthy? Given the fact that there has been a high demand for a free trade server that would seem to suggest that there is not a demand for a server with most things being no trade.
we get it . You want nothing to do with loot that can't be traded/sold. People on message boards !=high demand btw. Have a great weekend.
No, a new TLP is most certainly not guaranteed to start healthy especially if it has a "challenging" ruleset.
And I am not the only one who wants this as there is always lots of requests each year for the new TLP server to be free trade. Not to mention people always complain about botters perma camping the important drops and this will help ensure that they stay there longer.
Important drops? You mean like raid drops? Any raid drop should be 'No Drop" and Heirloom. Cut back on the menthols so you don't need to tunnel so many krono a month
Except that isn't the case in early expansions as raid drops are all tradeable for the most part. Also in early expansions there are a few group camps that contain important drops that players will be using for a few expansions. Also there is no need to start insulting people because they don't agree with you on making most things no drop.
How about spicing things up while also meeting folks halfway. Something like... 25% of items that are normally no drop are free trade. Basically, Dev's just put some .25 variable across all items marked no drop and convert to free trade. No advance notice of what those items will be. Each raid boss drops their normal loot table, but also has a 10% chance of dropping an extra random item from the current xpac as defined by the tiers that Mischief is using.
