Please please please please please do not pull a 2020 where the leap year did something that didn't get the events launched at the right time. I'm sure it'll be fine this time around, but I just want to throw it out there in case!
Can I root for a mistake in this release? I don't raid and the threads about it can produce comedy gold.
As a raider that doesn't care about being first, I also enjoy the drama that comes when the raid releases go awry.
Even better if the devs just troll the raid. Stuff like 5 enchanter mobs spawn mid fight and start casting AE mezzes on everyone.
Make one unlock the next so there's less complaining about split raiding and DZ Dropping. Or if you leave a DZ that is still active, you can't join another until that DZ has closed.
can we put the raids on hold until there is more group content? Raids only effect some people, group content is for everyone (hi 2 missions)
The problem is being able to join a DZ while you have an active combat timer. This would completely resolve any of those loophole tactics. Raids shouldn't count if you didn't receive raid currency from them.
On the Phinigel service, Scars of Velious accidentally was opened a week early to its schedule time and it involved a lot of good reads.
Remember when you used to have to beat the first raid, and have enough people who got the flag to unlock the next raid, and so forth, throughout that expansion launch? All was released day one and super hardcore players raided every 4 and half days to try and win 'the race'? DB clearly has decided to move away from that since they've been doing month by month releases for like 5 years now. These days, the biggest obstacle on release days is lag. I've seen upwards to 5 minutes for each zone, so like 10 minutes to leave an instance and zone into the next one.
how bout zone times that dont effect the launch or loophole strategies that effect the race? just saying.
Complaining about that is like complaining that water has oxygen. Finding THE fastest way has always been a thing for EQ racing, like being salty makes it better. - Experience.
The event system handles dates much better than a scripted method. This system will handle the leap year properly. The error on the first launch was that parameters needed were missing, and that was fixed already in the January patch.
Anyone know a sportsbook, perhaps offshore, who has the start of Tier 3 EQ raids as a prop bet? Asking for a friend...who I should probably be getting help for instead of asking this...
