The new reward system for raids is not performing as it was intended and results in a negative gameplay experience. The new system was intended to ensure that all players who participate received the correct rewards, but in practice it causes such severe zone lag players are stuck in limbo for excess of 2-5 minutes, in some cases even crashing to the desktop, resulting in lost rewards. It is so disruptive that players have begun to divise ways to avoid the new system because they would rather lose the rewards than have connectivity issues to the game, the very thing the new system was intended to prevent. While we understand and support the goals of the new system, it is currently causing disruptions to gameplay resulting in the opposite effect. Until and unless this issue can be resolved, we are asking for the system to be disabled and the older reward system used. Thank you.
I would rather take my chances at no coin/achievements then be incumbered by multiple minutes of zone time! I hope you can find a way that we can all have the reward with out the penalty.
Yep, it's sad when the real boss is lag. This is one part of raid lag that you know how to fix! Please do!!
Yup and it really sucks when a zone crashes and you lose the loot with no way to recover the lost time. This happened to us last night 2/6/24
Agreed. We had Bidils zone crash after the win and lost the whole chest. And of course no point petitioning that as there's no built in way to grant a lost chest/items that were not looted.
I think we can all agree that these likes shouldn't count for Lisard's Like/Post ratio, guy is over here stacking the deck! All likes converted to awkward hugs is appropriate.
During a raid event with 54 individual players, the reward system seems to overwhelm the instance with a combination of both in-zone achievement updates, and then after an insufferable pause, an achievement update in-guild. I'm assuming it is the sheer volume of players that is causing the instance to suffer performance wise and/or fail. Would it be possible to turn a raid achievement into a consumable item that appears on a player's cursor upon completing an event/achievement? Essentially, the raid achievement consumable would operate the same way a collection item updates the achievement system. This way a raider would be able to consume the item at their leisure. i.e. At the end of a (hopefully) successful raid night as to not stress an instance more than its capability.
The T3 raids will use the old reward system. We will continue to work on addressing the performance issues with the new reward system.
While I support the removal of the changes that lead to the end of raid lag-fest , PLEASE do not roll this out at the same time as T3 launch. This is a great change if it is made as part of next weeks patch to give staff an opportunity to fix anything that does work as intended prior to T3 launch day. T1 launch was already compromised with no mobs to kill in the PoM raid instance when there was only two T1 raids, not much a of a race! We don't need another potential fiasco when the mild mannered Dr. Jekyll with good intentions (Day Break Games) transforms for a day of boorish debauchery and becomes Mr. Hyde (a.k.a. They-Break-Games) if the script does not work as intended due to some coding changes that were made during the last year that someone forgot about when they re-implemented the old code. At the barest minimum this needs to be rolled out on Test first, but as I saw no test note about this change in the Test patch notes.....
Agreed, what happens if we win the raids and get 0 credit for it due to some unforseen script error. I really wouldnt like to wait another month for a fix to evolve neck. Put it on test (thats what its there for) make sure it works than roll it out the following month/patch after T3 has been released. Im fine waiting 30 sec to a min while the current script catches up and awards all the points and achievements.
We've gotten several complaints about the new reward system (the one with the delay at the end of events) still resulting in lost achievements/currency. If any of you have lost achievements or currency in the new reward system, please let us know your PC name / server and a rough date/time. Thanks.
We have petitioned on lost credit or currency and we just get the canned response that DB doesn't care (for loss of items, achievements or coin) and we just have to redo the event, but we cannot redo the event. We now have a lockout, which seems to always work, and yet the zone crashed so we lost all the time, effort, coin, achievements and loot. But hey, the lockouts still work great!..
My entire guild did not get coins upon completion of the Final Fugue and The Artisan and the Druid raids even after 10 or so minutes. We did get achievements though. The Hero's Forge raid gave both achievements and coins correctly.
So what exactly is the difference between the new rewards system, the old rewards system and the old old rewards system?
Alts have to be in zone before the raid mobs are dead to get coins/achievements. Gonna be real tough to DZ swap later on.
