Anyone have an idea how often the neck drops? I've run both missions 20 or so times and have seen one drop. Am I just unlucky, or is this representative of the drop rate?
Based off of your, mine, and a lot of others anecdotes ide say it's somewhere in the ballpark of 2-4% per mission.
Mission drop = a really bad system. A lot of people are/soon will be done with: - paragon - champion - challenger - hunter - grinding for lost/found ring quests - killing for collects - farming coins for augs etc If they are poor suckers with no neck like me, they will have to do enormous amount of killing once they manage to get the neck. Not a fan of this. There should have been some easy quest in Laurion's Inn to grant players a basic version.
Definitely worse drop rate on neck. Back then I would say that I used to get the cloak every 5th mission.
I've seen 4 in 30 missions. My opinion: make chase item evolves very easy to start, and get progressively harder to evolve, especially in ways that aren't parallel to normal gameplay. In other words, have them require significant tradeskill mats, item drops off rare mobs etc. Many folks can't feasibly run the ~40 times it'd take for them to get the drop, locking them out of the feature is a poor design choice. Everyone who buys the expansion should get to participate in the chase, it's just a question of how far they get.
I've seen seen 4 in 32 (FF) + 24 (HF) missions. 3 of the 4 came from the FF mission. What is that, roughly 7% drop rate? 1/14 individual missions isn't terrible imo. Some of you don't remember fight fire in TBL and it shows.
