Just to check, in what context did you get the AAs? Was it completing a quest? Killing a mob? There are some quests such as the epic 1.5 and 2.0 that just flat out give AAs regardless of what you have your AA exp % at for instance.
Turning off AA xp doesn't affect things like tasks or collections that automatically award AA...only grinding AA.
Do you mean you gained 5 AA points? Or did you get 5 messages that you'd gained an alternate ability at a cost of 0 AA?
This is not a bug. All classes now get granted aa as you level. I believe int casters get Quick Damage for free now as you level. Check your Quick Damage under the Archetype tab ... bet you have ranks there even though you have never spent any aas in it. Since the granted aas have "costs", they count for your aa total. And you will receive the aa achievements as you gain these as you level. They added free aas for all the classes ... used to only be melee/hybrids who got them. But now it's everyone (each archetype gets its own thing ... roughly).
Okay. Then what do you actually have non-zeros in on your enchanter? It still sounds like autogranted aas. Edit - Just looked on an enchanter that hadn't been logged in since the patch. At 70, you automatically received rank 1 of Improved Hastened Mana Flare ... which will be under Hastened Mana Flare on the Focus tab. The "cost" is 5 mana, but you now get it for free.
0 cost AAs arent the same as auto grant, F2P allows up to 250 AA spent, spent means buying you aren't buying these AA, its working as intended.
getting improved hasted flare at the cost of 0 AAs points and yet it going toward the total assigned 24/250
