So, that's it? A hotfix and no rollback?

you may want to double check that in general in discord they even said there was not rollbacks not saying she is lying but yeah....... ( and by they i am talking about the devs them self...)

This server has been done from before it was even announced. Or at least that is what people keep saying. Each year the vocal "server is dead" get louder and louder.
  3. OldTimeEQ1 Augur

Curious, do you know the issue due to which people are saying Oakwynd economy is gone etc? Because this is not the usual yearly type of "TLP server dead" post. Please read up.
  4. Lejaun Augur

I do, but thanks for suggesting otherwise. This is the usual "sky is falling" panic threads that are oh so common.

This is one of the worst mass exploits I've ever seen and we're not getting any communication. Yes, the sky is falling.

Whoever did this did the math and can spare a few throwaway accounts for the amount of ill gotten gains they have raked in for it. Again I'd suggest looking into all posters in this thread who minimize and pooh-pooh what happened and those who agree with their sentiments via 'likes'. That is, if DBG cares to act, which is not yet clear.

So you do understand the impact it has had on the Oakwynd Economy (Ignoring the fact that Krono IS account linked and applicable to ALL DPG games, not just EQ). Give us a couple of examples of the " oh so common usual sky is falling panic threads" from the past - where the real impact was of this magnitude and everything turned out hunky dory as you seem to imply?

I think you’re not understanding Oakwynd at all. This was the new home for many of us. With the additional bonuses added each expansion this server just gets better and better. Many of us saw it as a long term place to play end game with less grinding. I have never seen this many new players come to the game since the early years, too. Players that never played the game before. I meet people like this every single day grouping. It has an awesome experience. Truly like the old days. And despite high end items being sold for krono, normal items like dropped spells would sell for 1000 plat or so. Which meant after a night’s hunt you could buy a handful of spells. But if everything now costs 20 times more, it makes it to where you must use krono to buy plat to even play normally and that’s not a good experience.

Anyway, I’m not going to be dramatic and say I’ll quit the game. But I will likely go back to live where economy has been messed up for years anyway and sadly think of what Oakwynd could have been. I find its new economy unplayable.

You guys act like the economy is the whole game. All this hyperbolic talk is really funny to read. Honestly, just play the game as you normally would, and sell drops for inflated prices. Voila, you can afford things again. Wow! Amazing how that works.

This thread can be closed now that we have a brilliant solution.

Better yet, how about the GM's just give everyone 50 million plat in a /claim to even the playing field since they allow dupers to run rampant without any real repercussions.

Or we can just keep the whinefest going from people who have nothing better to do but be drama queens on the fake economy of a game.

I feel for people who had offline traders up with no knowledge of this happening and basically got their items robbed from them. Paid with plat that has no value. Sold krono for 1/20th the value.

Lots of people, especially casuals got absolutely destroyed for items they camped for countless real life hours. They might not even know about this forum. People should care about that.

Even funnier would be to play a socialist move and pool the pp on each server and give everyone the same amount.

You clearly are either not playing on the server, or were able to take advantage of this.

I personally had around 300k in items for sale when I went to sleep, which equated to 4-5 krono.
When i woke up, everything was purchased and the money I made wasnt even 1/4th of a krono.

Raw platinum is now useless on the server, anything you previously were able to loot and vendor is useless since Kronos went from 60-70k to 700k+.

If you werent awake during the middle of the night when this thing kicked off, you are now at a SEVERE disadvantage to not only the people who exploited, but just the regular people who were awake and able to change prices or sell something for an inflated amount.

If you dont understand how the economy of a server affects all of the players, noone is going to be able to explain it to you. But to call people whiners because they are upset or mad about what happened is legitimately just trolling.

I am absolutely not trolling. I do wonder how much an inflated game economy actually affects normal gameplay for most people. The guild I am in does minor raids as we do not have the force for major targets, but even with that, if I had all the platinum in the world, it would not actually buy me better gear than what I already get from playing the game. Even if someone does not raid, the normal drops you can get from grouping are pretty good. And how is an inflated economy different from any other server? You still have to buy Krono to keep up, so how is this any different? You can sell that Krono for a higher price now if you absolutely must have a BoC or something.

When platinum is introduced en masse to the economy, the platinum value of items skyrockets. That blade of carnage you speak of went from 140k to 1.4million platinum. Yes, its still worth 2kr, but achieving 2kr is much harder. Whether you know it or not, raw platinum makes up a huge portion of players ability to buy/trade for a krono. After a nightly grinding session in AC, if I sell all the vendor trash and add up the raw pp, that used to be a large portion of what a krono cost. Meaning if i played 5x nights a week and grinded AA, I would be able to afford a krono without ever selling something in the bazaar. That possibility is now gone. Meaning unless youre grinding AA at a camp with items that have resale value, youre now just wasting time.

Sure group items are great, and yes you can probably manage yourself with just group items. But everyone wants that Helmet of RZ, everyone wants those Boots of the Storm. Theres always items to buy that are way better than what youre able to obtain from grouping.

We're just a bunch of boomers & millennials playing for a broken product. Why do a rollback? They got a new TLP to set up and give us a bunch of stuff to buy.
