What about a new EQ MMO that reduces the creatures to be a challenge in larger numbers? Small packs will be a challenge to a solo player. A large group of 40 would be a challenge to a six-person party. A hoard would be a challenge to a raid sized force.

The action pace, or downtime between battles, is adjustable by party votes. Everyone votes faster or slower and the pace is adjusted by some magnitude of the votes.

Spells would be potent enough that some spells will one shot one or more creatures in the right circumstances. AOE spells would be very numerous in types of effects.

    Good travels

So your suggestion is an EQ ARPG like Path of Exile or Diablo?

I could see an arpg, but I don't know what perspective would work. What if you could zoom out and rotate the camera freely around your character, but could also zoom/scroll into first person? In a game with higher numbers of enemies and a faster pace, being able to see more would be helpful. It would be a different kind of game of EQ.

Different game, different genre. Might as well ask for fps eq or idle clicker eq.

Step 1, equalize dps, tanking, healing, buff, debuff, mobility across all classes. Step 2, throw it in the trash because there’s nothing of EQ left in it.
