Request : Raise Mischief Bazaar Sell Limit

Requesting to raise the bazaar limits on Mischief from 2M to 20M. No top end gear is sold in the bazaar anymore since 6 weeks ago when platinum started growing on trees and the prices of everything including items in previous expansions have gone up 4-5x what they previously sold for. If the platinum on trees feature is not taken out, can we at least have the limit of the bazaar go up so people can actually sell top gear there again? I'm thinking if it's raised from 2M to 20M we should be good until 2024 - thanks!

The 2M limit is hardcoded across all servers, so can't be done without major development work. People have been asking for this change on Live servers for years now. The Noble currency was created to get around this limit, but nobody seems to use it.

Genuine question: Can Nobles be used as a bazaar currency? I'll have to check next time I log in a trader. As plat heavy as just about every server is now, are people really so cheap that they'd let a minor surcharge get in the way of using a better currency? I guess that it shouldn't surprise me, too, that there are businesses that don't accept credit cards in this day of age.

The noble wasn't really thought out well. They should have just created a new coin above platinum, like mithril. 1 mithril coin equals 100 platinum. Something like that should work with the current system. If for some reason they are limited to the number of coins, just get rid of copper, lol.

    Everything is based on copper

This doesn't help the issue pointed out, as you can't price items for nobles in the bazaar. The ability to sell items passively is the biggest problem with inflation/the bazaar cap.

Selling items for nobles is the easy fix if they get rid of the tax for buying nobles. They need to buy and sell for the same price.

This is what happens when you abandon the gold standard.

Well the problem is 7 weeks ago in late March Krono were fine and stable, selling for 325k. Prices began to spike, 3 weeks later you saw Krono in the 700-750k range. In mid April, Daybreak thought they found the "source" and patched Marcia from buying items for 100k that still occasionally dropped off of NTOV dragons and Sleepers Tomb raid mobs. Unfortunately since they patched what they thought was the "source" of this giant platinum influx, the prices of Krono have once again more than doubled to 1.5M +. A select group of people still have what seems to be an infinite amount of plat, and the economy is being completely destroyed. It may be time to jump ship to another server, because the economy is being completely trashed and nothing is being done about it.

Since fixing this right now would cut into the player numbers for the FTE server, I wouldn't expect an immediate fix !

For a fact raising the baz price limit only shows how ruined and inflated the economy has become with krono prices literally tripling in a weeks time to where legit players can't afford krono for it's intended purpose which to pay for sub. Just watch as bots take over and inflate prices so high a portion of the playerbase can't afford to even stay on the server.
Great job Daybreak.... not. You didn't even remove the excess inflated plat gained via exploits nor ban the exploiters. Al it will do is prevent certain legits who buy krono to fund their accounts from being able to play.

Just so bad for their game makes no sense to force people into the cancer that is selling in chat. Why do fte when you could improve every live server with this one weird trick. If they can pull off fte dealing with the bazaar price cap is nothing. At least find and fix the Mischief dupe.

I am fully on board with this. The benefits would be welcome on live servers as well. Especially FV.

This would be a huge benefit to QoL. Why have a bazaar if it doesn't serve it's purpose?

Make the next level of currency if needed or just remove 2mil stack cap.

Is there any reason why not?

The raising the bazaar limit request is tongue and cheek, the point of the thread is more so to bring awareness of the rampant destruction currently going on in the Mischief economy. The "bug" Daybreak thought they fixed in April by patching Marcia, obviously wasn't the root cause of the problem, as the day after the fix (April 20th) krono were selling for 700k and are now selling for 1.6M almost a month later. When this inflation started back in early April, I somewhat sarcastically stated "at this rate, krono prices will be above the bazaar sell limit by summer" but seeing the price at 1.6M now and the price going up 50-100k every day, krono prices will be above the bazaar sell limit within the next 2 weeks. Most threads that specifically call out an exploit/problem are either removed immediately or within a few days, so a sarcastic request for raising the bazaar limit while implying something is completely broken and unaddressed on the server will hopefully allow the thread to survive longer before Daybreak deletes it.

/Tinfoil hat conspiracy theory on (joking of course)
This was an inside job to try to remove the enormous amount of krono circulating the economy and force people to buy new krono from the store, instead of pay plat for them in game. Destroying the Mischief economy was just collateral damage.

Yes. The limit is not a global parameter, it's hard-coded into every NPC vendor in the game, of which there are 10K or more by now. Every single vendor would have to be re-programmed, which means it's potentially more than 1000 hours of development work, and that resource is simply not available. For some time, going back years, we were told that if and when they moved to a 64-bit engine it would become easier, but now that we're there the story is different. The counter-argument is that they could make this change just for the Bazaar and leave the 2M cap in place everywhere else, and so far there has been no dev response to that suggestion.

The issue is the underlying code that needs to be changed is used by every merchant in the game and is likely used in other places as well. It isn't just a matter of switching currency from being stored as a 32 bit variable to being stored as a 64 bit variable which is something that could have been done pre 64 bit upgrade like it was done for HP.
  17. Domniatric Augur

    I'm sorry but I don't buy it. :p

Surely some kind of find and replace could automate this. Or, enlist our AI overlords for some programming.

Nobody cares about the plat cap on 10,000 NPC vendors anyhow. This is a bazaar issue.
  18. Jardad Journeyman

long time issue,, just have to sell/buy in general chat , like FV with Krono's @ 10.5 Mil
standing in Bazaar feelin like back in the "Tunnel" days... glad we "complained" about coin
    weight years ago.
  19. Waring_McMarrin Augur

The issue isn't changing the variables from 32 bit to 64 bit but all the testing that needs to be done to make sure nothing breaks as a result of that change. It wouldn't be very good if they rush to make the change and cause players to loose all their plat or introduce a massive amount of plat into the game because of it.
  20. Blastoff Augur

It seems like the easy solution would be to just let people list items in bazaar to sell for nobles or something like it. No messing with merchants and whatever else is tied to the plat/gold/silver/copper currency system. Just a 5th currency to list items for in bazaar.
