Blizzard closes Overwatch to herd players to sequel

Please don’t shut down P99. It serves a purpose keeping away that type of community from the TLPs.

This is apples to oranges. The OP clearly doesn't play OW, or plays Widow despite an inability to shoot players in the head - my favorite kind of player. OW1 had to sunset, it was going to turn into Team Fortress 2, IE no one was going to play it. OW2 is a much better game. You're going to have maps every like 8 months. They want to have a Smash Brothers level of Hero's, there's going to be new ones added constantly. No more battling 2 fricken shield tanks at once, there can only be one tank. No more crowd control being too over powered, the effects last a sec or so and are on a long cool down - you must pick and choose your spots better. Coordination and strategy in OW2 is 1000x better.

There's a literal pro league for this game. The league is moving to the new game, you need the audience to be playing and invested in the new content as well. Blizzard is printing money on this property in ways few games can. EverQuest titles could never say this, it was never a main stream title like OW, not even in the PoP era before EQ2 and WoW releasing within a month of each other sapped the player base of EQ, forever.

Yep, it's going to be a much better game since they banned poor people from playing...
