Usefull hint for debugging the windows desktop gamma brightness 1. Create a desktop link: right click on desktop -> new -> link 2. Enter this path for Windows 10: C:\Windows\System32\dccw.exe (drive letter can vary and has to be adjusted) 3. click forward and finish To reset the screen brightness you then only have to double-click (open) the link icon and then abort with the escape key. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you are playing in fullscreen mode: When "Enable Windowed Gamma" is unchecked you won't have to reset the Windows desktop brightness.
I just stopped using the EQ gamma correction and just use the NVIDIA gamma correction built into the display drivers. Pro: No more wild brightness swings as EQ starts and stops. Con: The Gamma correction is system wide and can make other applications a too bright. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Step 1 - Disable EQ gamma correction In game, Alt O -> Display Tab -> Advanced -> Enable Window Gamma = blank Step 2 - Enable gamma correction in the system graphics drivers. In Windows -> alt right click the desktop -> NVidia Control Panel On the left side : "select a task" -> Display -> Adjust Desktop Color Settings On the right side: 1 - Choose your monitor 2 - Choose how color is set -- Use NVIDIA Settings -- Brightness ( +45% ) -- Contrast ( +47% ) -- Gamma ( 1.51 ) 3 - Apply the follow enhancements: ( I didn't change these ) ... Step 3 - Forget about waiting for DB to fix their gamma issue.
Windows key + U > System > Display will reset your gamma to the correct level. You do not need to do anything inside Display just open it.

I was using this option too until I went back to raid Crystallos and the gamma flashing on/off about 2 times per second gave me a effing headache... Once I disabled NVidia settings, everything went darker but at least not flashing...
