I killed the destroyer and then the cruel illusion, no drops on the cruel illusion corpse, so could not complete the trial, but I did get the 16 hour lockout. I will try again tomorrow, but if this is a trivial loot thing, it needs to be fixed.
Check that you completed all the dialogs, hails, hand-ins, flags prior to GoD progression #3. Drops only happen if someone in the trial has all the flagging done up to that event. Being one of the old style quests with hidden player flags, it can be easy to go fast and miss a hail or a flag. I completed GoD progression this year and all the raid items at 115 so I can say keying does not use trivial loot.
Almost assuredly a missed flag. Multiple guilds and players on Mangler entered Gates this month and were able to complete all Ikkinz raid trials.
