launch a blue server with mercs and all of the modern exp rates etc defiant armor with 2 months unlocks it would throw all the botters off and people would be able to get upgrades from world drops for the defiant also launch a traditional tlp along side it. The blue server would be for people that wan to reach live but are struggling to lvl by not being able to find people to lvl with.
the reason people play on new tlp servers or new servers his because everyone starts at the same lvl so they do not have to catch up to 20 plus years of content,when you hit 50 or whatever his the max lvl when a new expansion witha 5 lvl or 10 lvl increase comes out you can still group with them and so catch up.
You see, the problem with trying to start everyone off even is that some people rather enjoy scheduling a vacation, stocking up on snacks and energy drinks, teaching their children how to keep their character going while mom/dad or sometimes both take naps and hit that level 50 DING! Then they're done till the next new TLP That's their way of fully enjoying the content and it is as valid as anyone else's play style. Others will purchase a fat stack of Krono and as they level they'll use them to buy gear that allows them to take on increasingly difficult events somewhat differently than the folks that vacation in Norrath rather than taking a cruise. No matter what particular rule set you can dream up there'll be plenty of people who look at it as a challenge and approach it that way. Heck I've been told that there are people who write hax for the digital North Korea's that are the P99 servers
I still think the best new server idea is the "Adult" Server. You get bonuses for every "adult" situation you have that prohibits you from playing EQ 20 hours a day, as we all know you would like to do. The base server would start out with TRUE CLASSIC crap exp - we're talking hundreds of hours of endless grinding in Guk to get to max level. Work 40+ hours a week? 100% EXP Bonus Married? 25% EXP Bonus (Additional 10% if he/she openly hates you playing EQ) Kids? 50% EXP Bonus PER KID Workout regularly? 10% EXP Bonus Have a pet goldfish? 5% EXP Bonus - brings me back to my youth Have more than 4 real life non-EQ friends that you need to hang out with? 50% EXP Bonus. Have a "partner" that you cheat on your spouse with? 25% EXP Bonus. The onus is on you to prove you qualify for these bonuses - and yes, they all stack. If you steal your neighbor's kids and pass them off as your own to snag that wickend-good exp boost - you get the standard DBG penalty for botting - nothing.
i remember when maelin was a brand new server it was full of life you could get a group easily it was fun full of life,lots of people love that fresh new taste of anew server.
moranis you forgot make it a 2 year unlock and if you die you have to start a new charecter and the server has code writen in it to randomly crash and if you die you die.
dam imagine racing to lvl 60 on a live server with lvl 110 plus nobody in the starting zones how boring.
This is a good idea. Would be like a Selo 2, but with a way for people to catch up if they wanted to play, love it, and 1 month unlocks kind of too fast.
or 2 month unlocks, and everytime a new expansion comes out you start at its level cap, and maybe even with a certain amount of AAs. This would be for people who dont care about leveling and AAing which you would think would be everyone, and just want to raid newer expansions
People play on TLP servers because they like the older content. Making a new TLP with 2 month unlock on expansions is what keeps people in this forums complaining about wanting a new server.
