Monk ‘White’ or Weapon Damage Question

    Experts,

What percentage of a monk’s total damage comes from his weapons?

Do their burn discs like ironfist, speed focus, and terrorpalm amplify weapon damage? I assume Heel does kicks. Is that correct ?

The question I’m trying to answer is - if a new weapon has a 10% better ratio, what percentage increase can I expect in DPS?

    Thanks in advance

    Tyrant of Fire mission:
    /tell Groupmonk Groupmonk -vs- Combined: Tyrant of Fire mission: -- DMG: 83784228 -- DPS: 179409 -- Scaled: 168241 -- Crush: 39824804 -- Kick: 20276970 -- DirDmg: 13250503 -- Strike: 8778333 -- Hit: 850985 -- Punch: 778601 -- Environmental: 24032 -- % dmg as normal: 43% -- % dmg as critical: 57% -- Non-crit rate: 63.1% -- crit rate: 36.9% -- Attempts: 4368 -- Hits: 4029 -- Missed: 332 -- Defended: 7 -- Accuracy: 92.4% -- Avg Hit: 20795 -- Max hit: 874183 -- DMG to PC: 351063

That's a good monk, with a Phlogiston Battle Staff. Overall, a bit under half that monk's damage was plain weapon damage, the rest was kicking & skill attacks, a bit of procs. Plain weapon damage might have been a higher proportion of damage with a bit more modern weapon, but she wasn't wielding, like, trash.

The long chunk of Unfettered Emerald Excellence:
    /tell Raidmonk Raidmonk -vs- Unfettered Emerald Excellence: -- DMG: 211436353 -- DPS: 243309 -- Scaled: 240815 -- Crush: 89154695 -- Kick: 63400545 -- DirDmg: 31879628 -- Strike: 20548693 -- Hit: 5140165 -- Smash: 1250800 -- Environmental: 61827 -- % dmg as normal: 24.3% -- % dmg as critical: 65.2% -- Non-crit rate: 47.8% -- crit rate: 45.8% -- crippling rate: 6.5% -- Attempts: 5535 -- Hits: 5277 -- Missed: 258 -- Accuracy: 95.3% -- Avg Hit: 40067 -- Max hit: 1374626 -- DMG to PC: 5464847

That's one of the best geared monks in game, with a hotass Ascending Sun Battle Staff. His weapon damage was actually a lower proportion of his overall dps in this log, 42% versus 47% in the above mission, presumably because a raid format with a consistent target instead of 20 littler mobs gets more burns poured in? Whaatever.

Heel does not amplify weapon damage. Heel is
    Heel of Zagali Rk. III 100 92/tick 0s 15m T6 30s+ n/a Self Hate: 1
1: Decrease Flying Kick Timer by 7s
2: Increase Flying Kick Damage by 74%
3: Increase Chance to Hit with Flying Kick by 145%

    Neither does Ironfist, Ironfist is
    Ironfist Discipline Rk. III 88 553 + 21/tick 0s 30m T4 60s+ n/a Self Hate: 1
1: Increase Dragon Punch Damage by 260%
2: Increase Eagle Strike Damage by 260%
3: Increase Flying Kick Damage by 260%
5: Increase Round Kick Damage by 260%
6: Increase Tiger Claw Damage by 260%
10: Increase Kick Damage by 260%

So those are skill attack boosting discs, not weapon damage.

Terrorpalm does amp hit damage, and Eye of the Storm, and Infusion of Thunder, and Xan Fi's Whistle. Here's a search for "increase hit damage by".

Speed focus doesn't boost hit damage, per se, but makes you hit a lot more frequently so weapon dps goes up.

    Szilent,

thanks kindly for the information. Erudite Monk you are. I recall one of the guild rangers saying their wep damage was in the 30% zone, so 40-50% accords.

Cross fingers ... i might get an ascending battle staff one day

    Thanks
