Mangler Economy Pretty Much Dead -- DBG Must Be Involved

Mangler is kind of in a positive feedback loop at the moment - kronos are expensive, gear is cheap, kunark is pretty boring, and exp is fast. This is basically good news for anyone who isn't trying to compete with the krono-lords - you can buy a krono from the DBG store, sell it, and essentially gear up any toon to within maybe 75% of a raid geared main.
    Meridian likes this.

Also Truebox doesn't work anymore, so there's 30x the amount of boxes compared to Phinigel, creates more demand for Krono.

Mangler has the best economy i've seen on any TLP i've played on. Selos being the only one i havent played on.

krono SHOULD be expensive. it throws everything off when they are dirt cheap

dont forget you have the krono flippers like Eats or Crazylegs, buying krono at 13.5k and selling it for 14k 5 minutes later, lol. It has to be noticable that a botter pulling in 600k in raw platinum a day is rising prices though.

On the other side Coirnav krono prices have gone down by about 25% since PoP and all the RMT farmers leaving for Mangler.

Exactly! Seems about perfect from DBG's and casual/deep pocket folks (i.e. the ones that buy the Krono) perspective.

You say that like it's a good thing.

OP not mad about "the economy" which allows players to fully gear their character with plat-cheap gear all for under 1 krono.

OP mad he chose a scrub class/combo and can't farm krono himself.

tlpauctions is kinda the advocate for a lot of price hikes now that everyone uses it as the absolute bible of price guidance even though it only records _posted sales_ rather than successful ones. i've tested raising the price of an item by over 50% by posting it with multiple characters in the auction channel (it did not actually sell for anywhere near that price) , and the exaggerated test price of that item became the new normal for over a week before returning to its original value

the same thing happens with krono. people post bogus "WTB KRONO 15k" advertisements while the actual average is at 11k, and soon enough the price is 13k to 14k several days after. this has been happening since the server started, and probably on every other TLP before this one lol

we need SEC to investigate krono market pump and dumps.. /reported to SEC should be an in game slash command. Krono market rides steeper manipulation than bitcoin.

Fippy opened on Feb 2011, Krono's did not appear until June 2013 so I would say that was a no.

yeah there a lot of people that use multiple characters to raise krono prices. youll see characters that havent been logged on the tlpauctions website for 2 weeks asking to WTB krono for 500-1k higher than market value, and youll see multiple characters doing this. in the past there have been people that use 4-5 accounts to do this, and in bazaar it gets even worse.

if you type the char name into the tlp auctions search you can see their auction history and lot of the above average market WTBs are characters that arent frequently logged, usually 5 days or 2 weeks since their last auction. most likely this is an alt char on an account that some is using to push things up.

bazaar is the worst though, each tlp its gotten more dramatic. you have people stocking up 500k-1mil plat before luclin comes out just so they can manipulate the krono market.

you also have the flippers that buy low then sell high, like ears if you search his price history he'll WTS krono 14k then 1 hour later hes buying 10 krono for 13.5k

What's wrong with playing the economy? Just like raiders play against the mobs some of us enjoy playing the economy against the players.

It's like a game in a game and it's just a mild form of fun investment gambling with fake pixels.

just educating people that the website isnt perfect.

Most guilds dont run 3 full forces simultaneously when splitting, that is just lunacy. Smart guilds (which most splitting probably are) split their entire force in half or thirds and clear the content with fewer members.

Magic and Melee 3 splits with around 45 characters per (an assortment of auxiliary boxes) for instance.
  16. yerm Augur

45 characters is a full raid force. 3 splits of around 45 chars each IS running 3 full raid forces.

Raids cap out at 72 in classic. You're probably thinking of LDoN and beyond when they cap at 54. :)
