When do they Qeynos badge quests go in?

Has anyone successfully completed this one in recent years? It's been a minor obsession of mine on and off for the last couple of years, and I've killed thousands upon thousands of the placeholders and hundreds of the casters, but none have ever dropped the quest beads needed for the turn-in. I'm fairly convinced it's broken at this point.

I hope this helps all you returning players. I love doing quests regardless of exp, but that’s me. It is up to you whether or not you want to spend your eq time doing this. I do not care about racing to the top, I do whats fun for me. Sometimes its worth it, sometimes its not. For me its the chase not the kill like the guy that posted about the Gavel he has been after for years. That is a big part of eq for me, hearing that turn in sound makes me smile. If I missed any or mislinked any or posted out of era classic please correct me or add to this post.

I did extensive testing a couple years back and the Grimrot PH repop is 150-170 minutes. So if you want Live Grimrot best time to kill is around 4am. If you want undead Grimrot best time to kill is around 6pm.

Exactly how much did they lower the exp for the exp quests? Does anyone have an idea on %?

Quest XP is now only noticable in the first 5 levels or so. After a point the xp-curve becomes so exponential that you do not see your xp-bar move at all no matter what Quest you finish/hand in. It is as if they thought that players never cared about this part of Questing anyway, apart from the exploitable hand-in quests(wine, beetle eyes, belts and such), so they just removed it all together.

If I had to guess a number, I would say Quests now give 10% of what they used to give. I am not sure if it even works that way, some quests seem to have gone from a noticable big chunk of a blue bar, to unnoticable so there may even be some worse math behind it, preventing people from getting *any* xp from quests at all above a certain level.

The fact that this seems to have been implemented across all servers back then, and the lack of outcry it caused on the live servers, is probably an indication that most veterans indeed do *not* care about this at all. But not so sure about people that are coming back for nostalgia, I am guessing they would like to see some XP rewards for their quests too. I am sure some of them would have the exploitable quests in mind too.

Even so, this could have been solved in a much more satisfactory way, though it would have cost more dev-time.

For instance, for the Crushbone Belts and Deathfist Belt quests, they could have made the Belts No Drop: this would mean you can still hunt those Orcs yourself and get some nice XP for tha hand ins, and it would seriously cut down on High levels monopolizing Crushbone/Commonland camps to farm belts and sell them for big money to newbies.

An elegant solution for hand in quests, other then lower the xp reward, could have been a diminishing return: i.e. the hundredth fire beetle eye that you hand in gives a lot less xp then the first. But this is probably hard to do and would take a lot of dev time, so I understand that this is not really an option. But in all, I think they would have to tackle around 15-20 quests, lower the xp for those, or make stuff no drop, and that would have been enough.

Just remember, that quests like these that people did to level quickly have seen the XP majorly nerfed on Phini (like XP reward down to ~10% of the previous kind of nerfed). I assume Agnarr will be the same.

I've updated all of the quests in this thread to make sure they have their expansion tags along with the reward items.

Tried the Gnoll slayer quest yesterday and Elgnub was not spawning, he was spawning every 5 mins when Lockjaw launched... one of those luck things I guess.

She still exists. I quested an Ivandyr's Hoop on Ragefire during classic. She was somewhat uncommon with trackers looking for her rather often and just clearing random stuff in hopes of spawning her. When I did find her she was very near the Guk entrance.

All quests are NERFED for exp, I agree they really only for reward item or faction. If your doing it for EXP dont you would level faster just killing mobs.
But I have to point out the Belts and Pads are still 5% a hand in yes this is low, but it will get you to the teens

I should note that some of the quests that are listed like the Lightstone/Concordance are no longer money makers: The profit to be had by buying off GLS off vendors and making the run to the Gypsy camp has been squeezed out of the game.

Many, MANY, of the original quests were futile. I think I have two Jaggie Pine Crooks but it took about two months of camping the Qeynos Hills to get them. Fortunately leveling was so slow back then you could do two months in the Qeynos hills and Blackburrow. The Crook was WAY under powered even back then. There were also a number of poorly designed quests. One in particular I vaguely remember was: ~You were given a newbie quest with a newbie appropriate item as a reward, but you needed to kill a level 27 Troll in the swamp to complete it.

I still do a few for old time sake like Piranha Teeth in Riverdale or Chomper. If your goal is to level quickly or make pp, not the thing to do.
