Please add Undead Dragongut Strings back to Trakanon

Big thanks to Soon on phinny server for originally starting this thread that was one of the longest continuing threads for a long time. In the end the Devs obviously realized that this was dumb and fixed it.

Sorry to the vocal few who thought fighting 10+ guilds is the only way to make an epic weapon feel epic. I know opinions are never wrong since they are opinions, but yours were clearly wrong and you should feel bad knowing that everyone knew you were wrong!

I just want to point out, that while I wasn't overly vocal about it - I felt that the bard epic as it existed during Kunark was ok(potentially painful and a bit frustrating, but ok). I did explicitly state that I would be fine if they added the guts to the real Trak as they have just done. Moving into Velious I definitely think this was the right move given the mechanics of UDB, respawn timers, and the fact no one really kills the real Trakanon. I was just against the ideas that would overly trivialize, such as super short respawns or things like that.

It is in the notes for today's patch. As long as they don't screw something up, it should be in place when the servers come back up.

So, about those guys saying you should bring your guild to kill Trak once, then come back 11 hours later to sit there and DPS race other guilds for UDB........you were wrong, absolutely wrong, and apparently the Devs hate you.

Why don't we all collectively complain until they change every aspect of the game to make it that much easier. Lets have Verina Tomb And Vessil on no re spawn timers. Or their loot should drop of a mob that isn't camped anymore. I mean damn, can't we have a GM spawn and we all form a neat and orderly line and tell the Gm what gear we want? Think about it. We could all save ourselves the trouble of pestering GMs (or playing the game) and just get the loots we want. Do this for every xpack release. Damn, then we can all have the same gear with the same effort required to obtain it.

Its like a magical world of equality and fairness based off no work. Sounds great doesn't it?

Oh boohoo at least Verina and Vessil actually get killed by PLAYERS.. Not by damn Trakanon because the devs in a attempt to appease PLAYERS made him respawn every 24-ish hours... The whole undead bard whine would be moot if Trakanon actually respawn at the time ORIGINALLY attended too... But since he doesn't.. Times change and the devs agreed.. It was time for change...

Hell I don't even play a bard and think it was time for this change... Bravo Devs

yea, i agree. ive always thought it was dumb too how mobs respawn. i killed that orc, why should another player be able to kill it when i was more strategic than they were to get that first kill. damn socialist gaming, down with communism!

That's not how UDB spawn worked. UDBs spawn timer was independent of Trak so the smart strat would have been to park a toon on the ledge just outside of lair with logs on to get a death timer. Bring a raid and kill track just before UDB enters window, then wait around for 5 mins to 3 hours with a couple of groups to kill UDB. Viola easy epic.

Not surprised they made this change and didn't change the harder to obtain epics like ENC and WIZ. Bards have been notorious cry babies since the days of Thott.

Is this supposed to be edgy? Relax, it's just a game. A few more bard epics floating around isn't going to kill anyone.

Get over yourself. It wasnt actually made easier, just less stupid. The difference now is that you now no longer have to get lucky with timing and kill super easy spawned Trakanon. Bards now officially have the hardest epic fight in EQ since you have to kill actual, kind of hard hitting trakanon now.

But if we're making epic fights super easy on your watch, Marl Kastane could always just not despawn when you do a turn-in.

Or we don't hear much as complaining from the other classes anymore (I seem to remember a lot more crying than you do) because they all got their epics by now....
