Playing an auto-grant, level 71 Magician with a water pet (no focus) and tank merc, both with full GL buffs. So far, WoS is the best experience and offers no problems, even if 4 or 5 mobs descend upon us. I assume that this will be good until 75-77 without needing help/spells. I assume that the GL buffs are more than compensating for any weakness in the J1 tank or pet. When does the need change to a cleric mercenary and higher level pets and focus items? Oceangreen Hills? Loping Plains? Later?
can try katta elementals with no merc, just get a mana buff from pok and your anti summoned nuke, also there's a few easier pet focii to get, i went to buried sea and got regrua warcaller's The Sweeper within 5 minutes of zoning in. ymmv.
