During one of the streams, devs said that we are free to PM them with quality of life UI improvements. I have one request, however I don't know how plausible this is (but this can apply to Live and Ragefire without consequences). When you right click an empty spell gem, you are prompted with types of spells before you can select the actual spell you are seeking. I'd like the ability to bind a certain Key + Right click to a predetermined spell type. Example: Shift + Right Click and empty spell gem to bring up Utility Beneficial --> Movement --> Spell List Ctrl + Right Click an empty spell gem to bring up Direct Damage --> Fire --> Spell List etc. Comments and other quality of life / UI improvements like this are more than welcome.
As a UI author for over 12 years, I have requested countless suggestions/QOL improvements, only to have them fall on deaf ears for the vast majority of the time. Over the years, I have sent PM's, Emails, Message Board Posts, In-Game Feedback, and most recently Reddit posts (as I know they read them). Recent example: http://www.reddit.com/r/everquest/comments/392vwn/tlp_ui_wishlist/ It truly seems that they (the Dev's) do not give a flying flip about the UI in general. The default UI is just a bloated mess, and it is just left to the UI authors to come up with alternative interfaces all within the constraints of the antiquated UI system that is currently in EQ. You have good suggestions, just do not hold your breath to their lip service.
I'd just like to see sticky flyouts so that when my mouse moves just a little too much, I don't lose the menu.
Or, it would be nice if they added something like, if you left click the spell type then it won't go away until clicked off or until a spell is memorized.
I'd suggest adding things like this into the EQ Issues tracker. As new features or improvements. That way the player base can vote up the items they really like (which gives DGC some small piece of information of how popular an idea is.)
Good suggestion. I was able to create it about 1 hour after this post. Here is a link, perhaps if you (all) think it is useful, upvote it. https://dgcissuetracker.com/browse/EQ-175
I thought of what I think is a great quality of life improvement. An inventory screen that lists all your augments with their stats and what slot they are in and possibly what slots they can go in. Hate getting a new augment and having to click on one piece of gear after another to compare them.
Until that becomes a reality (if ever), check this out, it may be what your looking for - GimaSoft: Augment Viewer
Google docs spreadsheet. Can open on a second computer or tablet when you get a new aug to find the best slot to put it in.
http://raidloot.com Can build a profile like Magelo and will separate your augs also. Would be nicer if it was in game.
You request things and they don't get done? It's almost like you're not their boss. One might even go so far as to suggest that they have to answer to someone else. Someone that isn't you. It's almost like you don't even work there. Just something to think about.
One thing I would like to see is an increase in the number of lines in the macro window. 5 lines is just to limiting for today's game.
Revert or Replace the Item Display Window, so that we can once again actually modify it to reduce its insane size. It is entirely possible to cover the majority of your screen with just 4 of the possible 6 instances of it open. Honestly, I miss the old little windows; have utterly hated the current iteration of the item display window since its inception.
Kinda lame that it's come to that. Thank you. You guys might have better ideas on how to shrink the window; those were just my thoughts.
