Chromatic Haze Crits

Hi all. It seems that our chromatic haze AA (not Glyph of Hazy Thoughts) no longer crits 100% when used. It seems to go off about as often as my normal crit rate now. Was this intentional or some kind of mistake caused by the initial nerf...err...fix to Hazy Thoughts?

It never was 100%. It's been broken since Beta.

Sidebar on this topic- I would like to enter this into the bug tracker for DBG but I'd like some solid numbers to accompany the entry such as current proc rate, failure rate, etc. If anyone has parses and would like to share that data let me know. If needed I'll do it myself eventually but I rather not if the work has been done.

    Ah ok. Fair enough. Thanks!

I'll be running some parses later (takes a rather large amount of time). Until then, the one thing I did find is that they did correctly increase the proc from Gift of Hazy Thoughts to the same value as the highest rank of the activated proc (On one of the threads I saw doubts about that).

Edit: As for actual data, damage from Spear of Blistersteel Rk. 3 with the highest rank of the activated AA, and with the proc (I took off my foci, this is with IoG and 100% crit rate, btw):
    Proc:
[Thu May 28 17:10:24 2015] Sancus hit Combat Dummy Meda for 816891 points of non-melee damage.
    [Thu May 28 17:10:24 2015] Sancus delivers a critical blast! (816891)
    [Thu May 28 17:10:24 2015] You deliver a critical blast! (816891)
    Activated AA:
[Thu May 28 17:14:35 2015] Sancus hit Combat Dummy Meda for 816891 points of non-melee damage.
    [Thu May 28 17:14:35 2015] Sancus delivers a critical blast! (816891)
    [Thu May 28 17:14:35 2015] You deliver a critical blast! (816891)

Another Edit: This is indeed 375%:
(26967*6.2)+((26967*6.2)*3.75)+((((3.5+9)/7)*928)*6.2)+(1926*6.2)+(500)=816893 (2 off because of something related to truncation).

my recollection of haze crits is that prior to patch they actually hit for more, comparing haze aa and haze proc post patch doesnt address what im saying, IF u land a crit now, I have yet to see any similar numbers to pre nerf patch.

was that one crit your best prior and now post nerf?
  8. Sancus Augur

It was 340% pre patch. Now it's 375%. There is no spell data for a Chromatic Haze (nor was there, ever) with more than a 375% focus, so it cannot have been higher than 375% pre patch unless the proc was broken (and I'm 99% sure it wasn't).

If you're looking for the "highest crit," you additionally need the highest foci roll possible (max burn is 130 to 230, so 1/101 chance - Edit: This is for me; varies depending on class and gear), in addition to the highest roll on Druid Season's Wrath (with 16 possible rolls between and including 10 and 25, so 1/16 chance). That seems rather difficult to properly account for variables...

Math? I like tacos, but not taco hats.

So I did some parses on proc rate. Here are my casts (51 fizzles):

    Combined: Test Ten on 5/28/2015

    Onusene - 18193
    --- Mindcleave Rk. II - 6037
    --- Mindsunder Rk. II - 6040
    --- Polyrefractive Assault Rk. II - 6116

    Produced by GamParse v1.5.0.2

In my log I have 1383 procs of Chromatic Haze (You feel strengthened by magic).

1383/18142=7.623194796604563995%... proc rate. That's a bit below the 8% figure quoted, but that could well be the RNG (casts are slow enough that even with ~19 hours of parsing there aren't a huge number of data points). I don't know if Gift of Mana/Gift of Gracious Mana conflict with it at all as far as proccing goes.

Edit: I'm assuming 8% proc rate actually means 8% (and is not some funky formula based on cast times). If it is actually something else, then I have no clue if this is the correct proc rate or not.

Oh, also as far as fail rate (though I think Dzarn already answered this):
    /tell Onusene Onusene -vs- Combined: Test Ten: -- DMG: 1571549935 -- DPS: 21990 -- Scaled: 21990 -- DirDmg: 1571549935 -- % dmg as normal: 20.8% -- % dmg as critical: 79.2% -- Non-crit rate: 42.8% -- crit rate: 57.2% -- Attempts: 27693 -- Hits: 27693 -- Accuracy: 100% -- Avg Hit: 56748 -- Max hit: 478082 -- DMG to PC: 0

The passive crit rate without Chromatic Haze should be ~57-58% (he doesn't have the 1% DoN AA), so this supports the idea that the 100% crit rate simply is ignored. He seemed to crit just as much as he otherwise would have without CH.
