I'm guessing you are shooting for the moon in hopes of getting the reasonable things that are on here, right?
Only a portion of these are my suggestions. This started as a consolidated and unfiltered list of every idea posted in various threads for disc/AA ideas. I would very much like the Warrior community to filter out stuff that we don't want for a clearer image of where we'd like to see the class improved.
IMO, only a portion of these are "ridiculous" and I see a few that are duplicates/should be switched(IE disc to AA)
Feel free to post any adds/changes/deletes here or in the thread on TSW, this is certainly a work in progress.
Roar of Challenge needs to not be resistible, that is just silly. And should have no hit limit. Additionally can we get a way that Glyph of the Cataclysm wont click if we have Brutal running, upsetting when it gets wasted. Possible retune on First Spire of the Warlord, and make it group effect, increase the stat effects more(alot more) would be very nice and actually make it worth clicking.
I'd like spikes on my boots, so when i kick it really hurts! these can be applyed to hero's forge armor for warriors, and they dont have to accutally do any dmg just give the impression that they might cuz my boots are spikey!
One thing that would help for us warriors is the taunt button to not fail, in raid and groups ( I see a post or comment about warriors being picked over by fast killing groups), if i am right, the warrior taunt will put us on top of the hate list one point than the other peeps on the list, that would help the warrior to be able to get his/her other macro hotbuttons to refresh as normal as they are now. I would recommend that the taunt button refresh faster than they are doing right now too ( got to love mashing those taunt buttons lol )....hmmm, we could have those warrior taunt skills linked and refreshed every 5 swings of our weapons.../auto taunt.
I never knew how hard it was to get agro for a warrior in a group setting killing so fast. Being a ranger in the past I could easily take the agro if I wanted and with not so well geared warriors I was constantly jolting or turning off atk. So i rolled a warrior and I have been playing with friends of the same level and man I had no idea how difficult it was to get the agro. Once you have it and its controlled like 30 seconds into the fight its fine but on incoming its a challenge to maintain agro. I think for a warrior the idea of a no fail taunt would be great. Give it to warriors only. I think that would help alot. It would make handling agro much eaiser without breaking the game. Knights are great in group with instant agro and I now see what the warriors are telling me about getting agro at the beginning of battle in the group setting. I hope the warriors get it. I do not think its over powering and would love to see them get this to keep frustration down with the warriors we still have.
As is the case with everything, there's not universal agreement and even where there is general agreement on something it doesn't necessarily mean it should be done. In broad general terms I think the most critical Warrior need atm (content design can radically influence things) is a fast refresh high one-shot at-will aggro AA ability. Have do really high initial aggro and then put a Hate Over Time buff on the mob that prevents reusing that ability on that mob. People just aren't willing to wait in fast kill groups and all too often our at-will abilities are either not refreshed or hit for so little hate they are easily exceeded. I'm quite happy to see all three tank classes tanking challenging content with sword and board. Obviously when one is not using a shield one should not get defensive benefits. An offhand weapon might increase parry but that should be at an offensive cost. Warrior combat self-healing needs to be increased. From a within class character standpoint a Warrior's "unheard of stamina" ought to translate into quite high HP regen but frankly HP regen rate is not the issue. The problem is that being able to reduce the rate you take damage is not always as useful as being able to at-will rescue yourself when you are in danger. While we do have some limited ability and there are healing potions the amount of healing we can do doesn't even offset the damage a challenging mob can do with a single hit.
This can not be over stated enough, and I do agree as well. I pushed for this in prior expansions too. This makes me sad but as your history with the warrior class shows you are trying to classify warriors as a different flavor of knight. Warriors are warriors they are not a knight at all. Instead of thinking of tanks in a one dimensional way, you should be focusing on what makes the warrior class unique and expand on that to make warriors absorb and avoid damage. A warrior is a master of all weapons, a warrior should be able to use their tactical mastery of weapons to help them deal with incoming damage. While a knight on the other hand has to utilize a shield and spell book to compensate for their lack of weapon prowess. A dual wielding warrior should be able to handle incoming damage just as well, and even better than a knight using a shield. Your comment is one that has basically taken the best part of being a warrior and removed it from the class. Thank you for your help in destroying what separated a warrior from a knight.
We'll simply have to disagree. Thanks to their heavy armor, Warrior have the unmatched ability to survive.... A shield is heavy armor. A shield's purpose is defense. Would you, wanting to survive, take off your heavy armor BP? Why then would you expect to set side your heavy armor shield? A Warrior is master of offensive and defensive weapons and tactics. A bow is not a shield no matter how well one masters its use. Although one could try to block an incoming blow with one. A sword is not a shield - it's one of those offensive items too - although one could parry with it. We might be masters of all weapons and tactics but that hardly suggests being able to use a martial art weapon as effectively as a Monk, getting DW at level 1 and using it whenever like a Ranger (not a heavy plate wearer - a nimble DWing fencer), or backstabbing like a Rogue. It does however suggest we should be able to use a heavy shield like a tank - we are a tank. The best part of being a Warrior is being a heavy gear dependent tank. I was happy to see what had long been at complete odds with being a heavy tank get fixed. More important than a disagreement that has been addressed is my earlier point - Warriors don't agree on all of the items in the list presented,,,, it's probably a good thing devs consider what's in class/tank archetype character, too powerful/not powerful enough, etc.
Should just change the way Shield Specialist works and in turn abolish the Improved Shield Specialist AA, all they have to do is make it so it works as an Innate version of Furious Bash that only procs so as long as you Bash with a Shield rather then have proc aggro while using any weapon from a primary hand. The description just doesn't make sense and further more if Improved Shield Specialist keeps having problems, they might as well get rid of it. In turn for changing the way Shield Specialist works, give Warriors a "Warlord" version of the Ranger's Scout Mastery of Blunt/Piercing/Slashing Weapons, then give Paladins and Shadow Knights a "Knights" version of the same thing as well.
I would like to see Furious Bash return to shields. I disagree about Ageless being unresistable, The fixed duration taunts should always be above ageless
You do realize that bash hate is extremely low and furious bash is like adding a grain of salt on top of a very small pile of sand?
Honestly would love to see Warriors return to their rightful place atop the Tank list in every setting, not just raids, and even in some situations, that is challenged. a Warrior should be the best tank in game, all BS aside.
How do you define "the best tank"? Lowest DPS taken from mobs? Lowest damage received per hit? Least healing required? Highest sustainable agro? Least likely to take a bad round? Quickest at grabbing incoming and adds? Best protector of groupmates? Most survivable when tanking multiple mobs? Best at holding agro on multiple mobs? HIghest agro generated without damaging mob? Best at surviving spell damage? Most likely to survive when healer is incapacitated?
Highlighted statements in Bold that would fit the bill. But I think you know what I refer to. When a group needs a tank, period, there should be no question of who fills that role.
