PSA - What shall we raid tonight? (Phinigel/Instances)

    It's raid time! What shall we raid tonight? With so many zone DZ/instances having issues, it can be a very frustrating experience to gather a raid force, pop a DZ only to find that zone's boss(es) not spawning afterwards. In the interest of saving other guilds the time and hassle of wasting lockouts, here are the results of our DZ popping yesterday (Tuesday 10/11/16). As a side note, the bosses we were interested in were the "Luclinite orb" droppers.

    What didn't work:
    • Acrylia: No bosses
    • Akheva: No bosses
    • Grieg's: No bosses
    • Katta: No Lcea
    • The Deep: No bosses
    What worked:
    • Ssra: All bosses up
    On lockout so couldn't test:
    • Sanctus Seru
    With that said, I did read a post where someone had some bosses pop in the ones that didn't work for us but they had popped 4 versions of the DZ to get them to pop. The workaround I guess would be to pop and check, then if no bosses, use a different account, pop again. When you finally find one with bosses, invite the raid into that DZ. We chose to go to Ssra Temple instead of using this method.

    Hopefully this information is helpful and hopefully the DZ/instances are fixed ASAP.

    Thanks for posting this. If we aren't going to get any official help, we can at least muddle along as best we can as a community.

    We spawned Sanctus Seru instance last night and Lord Inquisitor Seru was not up.

    We ended up clearing NTOV which is fully spawning still or for now lol.

    its absolutely pathetic that we have had no word whatsoever from DBG in regards to this

    We watched a couple of those instances just for the hell of it...

    Shei was up in all 4 Instances when DZ1-4 opened
    Vadyn was up in instance #1 when DZ opened
    Itraer Vaes popped with 45minutes left in the DZ timer in DZ#1
    Vadyn popped with approximately 30 minutes left on DZ timer DZ#2
    DZ3-4 None of the missing popped after 4+ hours and those people gave up watching it

    The other day Lcea Katta spawned 2 hours after DZ opened
    Grieg and Servitor also showed up around 2 hours after a DZ was opened

    Moral of the story... work around until the fix is open with 6players (as early as you can), on accounts that you dont necessarily care about a 3day request lockout on... hope the missing spawn before the 6 Hour DZ expiration

    Oh yeah the real moral is.... fix the terrible hotfix from last week... with a legit hot fix

    OMG nothing would make me angrier at DBG than having to do NToV again because of this bug. :cool:

    Hmm...i think i figured out what they did then. I have a theory about exactly what they broke:

    Since we know Luclin raid mobs all have wacky spawn mechanics related to invisible people talking to other invisible people, their first attempt at making the instances probably forced all the raid mobs to spawn immediately on instance up.

    Unfortunately, it seems like they failed to disable some or all of the wacky spawn mechanics, resulting in a *second* copy of one or more raid mobs spawning based on those mechanics.

    Now it seems they removed the "force all raid mobs to spawn on instance creation" so we are stuck with only the *second* copy spawning in our instances, which may or may not actually spawn at all and also almost always will be delayed at least somewhat.

    The reason that popping multiple instances probably works is that since the spawn times on some of these mobs is randomly between 0 and some amount of time passing, each instance you spawn has a chance to choose a very early spawn time and have the mobs be up by the time you check for them.

    If this is correct, then the reason that Ssra is the only instance which is working would be because it is the only instance they actually bothered to test and make sure was working.

    If this is indeed the case, then this raises some interesting possibilities.

    For one thing, that would imply that the blank lockout is actually a red herring, completely unrelated to the bosses not spawning.

    I cannot verify this personally since we had alts open our test instances, but did anybody whose main got the blank lockout go on to participate in a Ssra instance while they still had the blank lockout?

    If i am correct, i would expect that even though you had the blank lockout, the Ssra bosses would have spawned normally.

    That's a possibility Ryak, but who really knows.

    As to Lord Inquisitor Seru, we kept a ranger in there during the entire 6 hours that the DZ was open and he never spawned. We had hoped maybe he would spawn before the instance expired, but that was not the case.

    right... opening an instance forces all them to be in their variance spawn window... which may be greater than 0-6hours. since most raid mobs have windows ~12hrs

    The funny thing about this... we all thought that getting emp essences was the bottleneck to VT. Now its getting the instances to work so you can effectively collect orbs of luclinite is new true bottleneck for any guilds who still need them.

    This suggests that the following strategy is the best way to approach instances at the moment.

    (1) Figure out how much time you want to leave yourself to actually kill the raid mobs
    (2) Determine how many groups of 6 alts you can assemble
    (3) Give yourself a 30 minute cushion and subtract from 6 hours to determine how long before raid to pop instances. Say if you think you need 2 hours to kill them, 6 hours - 30 minutes - 2 hours = 3.5 hours before raid start time
    (4) Based on the calculation in (3) pop as many instances as you can 3.5 hours before raid start
    (5) At raid start, based on which instances have spawned which mobs, select which instance(s) you want to actually add people to

    Not exactly intuitive, but it should be somewhat functional. (Also stupid, obviously)

    Also doesn't work very well for multiple targets in one day.

    Pretty much thinking DBG and crew are possibly wishing they hadn't come up with new TLP servers considering all the cr#p that breaks, the stress from the players and work they are putting in to it. Im sure there was a sub uptick but dang we have to be the problem children of EQ atm.

    Vex Thal mobs are working as intended. However, there is an exploit that still allows guilds to bypass all the mobs in the zone and go straight to Aten Ha Ra.

    Seems to be an issue with Mitigation of the Mighty IV bosses in instances they were not worked on. We know both ssra/vt had work done in them recently.

    why not let them fix 1 thing at a time... as this bug is a direct result of the exploit crying from last week

    I think there's a named zelinak or w/e horse thingie in Umbral Plains that's a raid mob as well - wasn't up either.
