I would like to have a definitive answer, if Mepps can see this, is Reshade allowed? I've done all the research I could on this and the last time this was answered was in regards to SweetFX, and that was only a vague answer from Sony 6 years ago, nobody truly knows if SweetFX or the modern version (ReShade) is allowed.
Thanks, but I am looking for an official response, hence why I asked for Mepps (he's the Community Manager).
That was actually the first thing I was going to do, but I couldn't find an option for it. How do you PM on this forum? Edit: Is it the button that says "start a conversation"? Just noticed it.
I dont have time to search for a tutorial cause im at work, but could you make a quick one to explain what Reshade do ? And how use it ?
Here's a tutorial: https://www.gameskinny.com/p0j0c/how-to-use-reshade-to-make-any-game-look-better This one has a description for most of the effects: https://reshade.me/forum/shader-discussion/3413-preset-explanations I don't have much to say myself as I only used it with one other game so far, but if you know what ENBs are, it's mostly the same thing. If you haven't heard of ReShade/SweetFX/ENB, pretty much it's a sort of customizable graphics mod, can be pretty powerful for people that are skilled with them (at least from what I've seen with ENBs).
I read somewere that reshade doesn't work with the game anymore the game just instant crash to desktop so I've been asking nvidia if they could ad it to their nvidia freestyle reshade thingy but they don't answer so if the devs here would contact them mabye they would answer.
No problem, have fun with it! I haven't had the time yet to configure it, but it does work, it's pretty laggy but that might be a combination of game optimization and downloading all the effects with it, I'll be trying to fix that once I figure out my best configuration for it, might also be smoother with an older version of reshade as I know some games require older versions, a quick search will get you to a repository of those.
Update all these years later because I was unable to find anything. I was getting regular crashes while attempting to utilize Reshade. If anyone has a solution that'd be stellar.
Updated d3d9.dll, you can download it here: https://workupload.com/file/v6648qtmQvb Go to the install location of DCUO ".\DCUniverseOnline\UNREAL3\BINARIES\WIN32" and paste the files there. After that start the game and check if everything works correctly. Here you can download all additional shaders: https://workupload.com/file/vwJjjVMSg4e Simply paste them into the same directory "WIN32". Note: Those are a few hundred shaders which will cause the game to freeze at first start up. Make sure to change Reshade to "Performance Mode" after succesfull load.
