At least launcher should prevent running game for EU Servers

How long this maintenance will continue? +13 hours the world is down and still nothing...

14 hours and still nothing

Cant wait for the reward they will give us for the long downtime.

Devs will you give us some information about how the maintenance is going and when will end? It would be way better than the silence that is right now!

I hope we get some sort of compensation or a reward for this. Almost 16 hours down now lol not to mention some of us pay for membership

Mepps, come on, it’s okay if the dev team needs time to fix it, but at least keep us updated on the subject. Server has been down for more than 14hrs now but we don’t know anything...
Not being able to play is frustrating for sure, but not having any update status makes it even worst.

EU is up.

There are a couple of different things at play right now. Since the servers were taking offline for an unscheduled maintenance, whatever the issue is should be considered extremely critical. Also, this has happened in the middle of what is a holiday weekend here in the US (Labor Day) so the majority of engineers or other personnel are not in-office.

Generally speaking, in the past when something like this has occurred, after an initial announcement (like the one we've received), no further information is given until all the details are known and then only if something like a data breach has been discovered where customer information is at risk.

In all other cases, no further details will be given and under ordinary circumstance (non-holiday), a maintenance status would be posted as those who monitor these forums or social media would be available to do so.

As for compensation, historically speaking, general announcements about it are not always given they just sort of happen on the back end. In most cases, additional days are added to a subscription (for those who have paid subscriptions) and under extraordinary situations, other awards may be given in the form of marks, base items, etc. If that happens further details as to what those are will be announced globally.

Optimistically, this is, at worst, a catastrophic hardware fail of some sort either with their internet services or systems hardware. Since this is a holiday weekend with today (Monday), being actual day off, it is likely that people are being called in off holiday to correct this issue (it is critical after all). Likewise, there may also be additional information or updates given once people are awake and have additional information available. Again, do not expect a full reporting because it is something that Daybreak (and Sony Online Entertainment before them) has rarely done.

Sorry for the long answer but I wanted to be clear as to how this usually works (or has worked out in past experiences going back 8+ years).

Whats more annoying is that it went on for over 15 hours without as much as an apology for the inconvenience

I had forgotten how bad the communication is and just how much of a f they don't give.
