I would hope it was just a joke, but so far I haven't seen any reports disputing the story.

That just takes the wind out of my sails. He was one of those supporting actors that often was more memorable than the leads. He was also in one of the best vampire movies of all time: Near Dark. There goes my smile. RIP, Bill.

I read about it this morning and it just sucks. He was the man. I mean come on he's the only guy to be killed off in both the Alien and Predator movies.

He also got tossed around pretty hard in the original Terminator film, so some would argue that he was one of the few to be offed by a Terminator, an Alien and a Predator (never really saw his fate in Terminator so it's kind of up for debate).

Two excellent movies, for those that have not seen One False Move I highly recommend it. It's about a small town cop who catches wind that a trio of violent criminals are headed his way and what connections he may have. It's a noir thriller so don't expect an action movie.

I also recommend Frailty and Near Dark.
