Is the server down?

    Yes. The server gets rebooted everyday at 7AM EST and comes back up between 7:30AM EST and 8:00AM EST. I always come back at 8AM EST.

    Resets every day, at 7 AM EST, and has done such for 3 years now. The question isn't whether the server is down, but rather why does this thread seem to appear every day? To the OP, I understand you may be new, and I don't blame you. SOE should have a notice in-game that tells people of this.

    Yes, and no. New players that haven't dealt with it yet may try to log in just after the reset and not know what's going on. There is a message that pops when you first log in, welcoming players to DCUO. Maybe they can amend it to show server down time?

    That sounds like a good suggestion. Have the background state: Servers are down for reboot and will be up at 8:00AM EST (or whatever time zone your in) and be done with it.
