I agree that precision is the easiest.

Yes, might at end game, with skill and some time developing a rotation, be can be really powerful. Celestial DPS can be very powerful though! I have had a Celestial character since just after it's release. If done right, it can land some huge hits. My 2nd favorite power lol.

Then stop complaining about prec being so strong and easy to use if you are an endgame players and dont touch the clamped content. You dont need to do all the top damage all the time. Just get through the content, play as you want in clamped content.
End game let yourself shine with your might builds. You've just admitted you hate how "easy" prec is. How much harder COULD it be. There is no innovation on weapons and all close melee combos is out of the question in elites and onwards

It's not about wanting to do all the top damage all the time, it's about wanting a balanced and fair gameplay experience for all players, regardless of their playstyle or preferences. Precision powers being strong and easy to use may not be a problem for some, but for many players, it can greatly impact the overall balance of the game and diminish the enjoyment of playing.

Just getting through the content is not the only goal for many players - they want a challenge, they want to be able to test their skills and abilities against tough enemies and bosses. Innovation in gameplay and diversity in playstyles are what make a game dynamic and engaging, and when certain powers or abilities dominate the meta, it limits that creativity and variety.

Endgame content should be a place where all builds and playstyles can shine, not just those that are considered the most powerful or easy to use. It's important for the developers to listen to the feedback of the community and make adjustments as necessary to ensure that the game remains enjoyable and balanced for all players. Let's strive for a game environment where all players can feel accomplished and successful, regardless of their chosen playstyle.

While it's true that precision builds may be easier to set up and use compared to might builds, the issue lies in the balance and impact of these builds on the overall gameplay experience. The fact that precision builds are easier and quicker to set up can lead to a lack of diversity in playstyles among endgame players, with many gravitating towards what is perceived as the simplest and most efficient option.

When a particular power set or playstyle dominates the meta due to its ease of use, it can significantly limit the variety and creativity in gameplay. Players should have the freedom to choose their playstyle based on personal preference and strategic decision-making, rather than feeling pressured to conform to a particular build for the sake of efficiency.

Endgame content should provide a challenge and an opportunity for all playstyles to shine, rather than favoring one type of build over others. It's important for the developers to consider these concerns and make adjustments to ensure that the game remains balanced, engaging, and rewarding for all players. Let's strive for a game environment where all playstyles are viable and where players can feel accomplished and successful regardless of their chosen build.

Also, perhaps they should test their own content with using only powers that are deemed "the weakest", compare with the opposite, and see where to go from there.

This whole easier to use precognitive disposition is comical. You need to be engaged at all times to maximize precision damage and minimize animation windows.

Might players are pressing 1 2 3 4. It's a snoozefest. The only fun in playing a might build is against a sparring target when you're developing and testing the pattern and weighing it againdt other options. The actual use of it is mind-numbing. It's probably why most people are terrible with pick-ups. They're spacing out, man.

Funny, I hear the exact same thing about prec, where the muscle memory practically takes over and the only difference is their fingers hurt by the end.

To an extent... sure. But you're still playing a musical instrument. You can't just take 6 shots, drink 3 beers, and hit the bong before going on stage and expect it to sound the same.

Might on the other hand... pretty sure I could do it blacked out and rolling around naked with one hand.

Actually it's not always just 1, 2, 3, 4, rinse and repeat. We gotta lunge, block, roll, do combos on some powers, all while mitigating damage (because might players are strong enough to maintain aggro in alerts), and keeping an eye on the precision players because they don't move out of lava (or whatever other ground effect they're too zoned out to notice). Might players have to maintain focus on all sorts of things during that 1 through 4 button sequence.
Precision is just clap, throw, spin, clap throw spin, clap, throw, OMG I ALMOST FELL ASLEEP, lol.

Sorry for the question, but between Earth and Rage, which one is better? Both for PvP and PvE? Tank and DPS. This thread has left me confused.
  13. Pale Rage Dedicated Player

The one that you can use comfortably, most effectively, the best. If you can't use combos, rage is not for you, and neither is jackhammer. They both are competent powers as tanks, and DPS. Each has different strengths in tanking, earth has a couple different methods, rage has absorption and self healing.

So, it's really down to which one you like better.

You guys are acting as if this game is fresh, its not. Its life cycle has just about ran its course and it shows with the amount of broken stuff and lack of communication going on. Its all just a cash grab from here on out it seems until the player base is low enough they call it quits and get what they can before that happens. The stat clamp is a major killer, the broken and abandoned PVP is a major killer, the unbalancing of powers is a major killer, nerfing things unnecessarily because of a handfull of cry baby's is a major killer, the drop rates lately for things such as the aspects of the fallen henchmen is a major killer, Paid players get crap bonuses of a difference from Free to Play to really justify paying, etc... I could go on for days. I'm more pissed about them insulting us with sugar coating the bs going on then just coming out and saying hey its F'd up and we are doing what we can. Hell you know its bad when they came out a while back and admitted to not doing crap with PVP because they don't know how to, SMH.

But they are using allies to as a bandaid to help fix power unbalancing! You might have to suck for a bit whilst you level them up, but at least they are trying! Also, why fix unbalance at the roots if you could have the possibility to monetize it? Win win!

The Gadget player was either better than the other person or was just in a more favorable situation than the other person allowing it's strengths to shine. Gadgets takes a lot dexterity to perform optimally with. Why should another power be equal simply because it has max artifacts. They were never meant to cause a great a divide(even if there will always be an META in everything). Also there is no power cannot complete content so the balance argument is a moot point. If they brought back enrage timers and there was a power set that was not able to meet the DPS required to beat a boss then we can talk about balance. People need to stop being insecure about a score board that means nothing. Total balance is a myth. The only way to achieve that is if everyone has the same exact loadout. Imagine playing street fighter and it was ryu vs ryu all the time. Imbalance creates interesting scenarios.

There is also the fact that some powers are better at being support roles or are not the best at either role but are still good.

A lot of the imbalances are system wide not necessarily the power. SS is what should have a nerf. That is effectively allowing a lot of powers to "over perform". However there is a delicate balance as it also allows a sense of speed.
  17. Roocck Committed Player

I disagree with the notion that people calling for nerfs don't understand the strengths of different powers. It's important to remember that balance is key in any game, and sometimes adjustments need to be made to ensure a fair playing field for all players. Just because a power is meant to excel in a certain area doesn't mean it should be overpowered or unbeatable in all situations.

While Rage may be a high risk, high reward power, that doesn't mean it should be allowed to dominate in every scenario. It's important to consider the overall balance of the game and make adjustments as necessary to ensure a fun and competitive experience for all players.

Additionally, suggesting that artifacts and allies are the sole reason for losing on the scorecard is dismissive of the skill and strategy involved in gameplay. It's important to consider all aspects of the game when discussing balance and making suggestions for improvement. Let's strive for a balanced and fair gaming experience for all players.

You basically echoed what I've said (to an extent) in either this thread and others, or just others.

Balance is as close as it's ever been. That does not mean we have achieved balance. I'm stating that considering how the game has been over the last 13 years, era closer than ever.

You absolutely can disagree that people calling for Nerfs don't understand the powers: that is your right. Just as it is my right to know they that they don't understand the concept of powers and how they're strengths are various.

Rage, for example, doesn't dominate in every scenario. Range isn't nearly as strong as melee. When it comes to melee though, a skilled rage user should absolutely dominate in that area though, because the user took the time to learn how to dominate and survive in the "RISK VS REWARD" category.

If you honestly think that artifacts and allies cannot tip the scale no matter the skill level: you have much to learn. Look at precision, then come back and admit that artifacts and allies can absolutely make a massive difference. I'll wait patiently.
