Customization, powers and styles specially. Styles are what made me run content... now we're always short on styles.

The character customization...and hopes that we will finally get Star Sapphire Power Rings...and the Light Material.

Nothing. Until they fix PvP, I have absolutely 0 desire to play and i'm not even sure that'll do it. I think i'm to the point where the "spark" is gone and it's not coming back.

It's crazy to think that there was a time when i'd play a solid 3-4 hours every night for the better part of 4 years and now I can't even stomach logging on. My how things change.

The way I see it, it's like breaking up with a long time significant other. It's hard to let go because you think of all the great times you had. Of how much of yourself you invested into the relationship. You dwell and dwell and it drives you crazy because you just want things to go back to the way they were when things were great. And there were some great times.

So we linger here on the forums hoping we'll see something that brings that spark back. Maybe it will and maybe it won't. The important thing to remember is that it's ok if it doesn't. Remember your time and money didn't go to waist. Because at the time, the spark and love for the game was there, and that's what you were paying for.

To this day I still miss CoH like crazy, I loved that game. It was hard to see it go but you move on. I hold out hope that DCUO will one day realize it's vast amounts of untapped potential but if it doesn't, that's ok. There will be other games.

I agree with you, im also one of this ppl who hate time capsules. But tc's was not a failure, well it depends on how you look at it,
Tc's are one of the smartest strategies i ever saw in mmo. It was known long ago that dcuo is losing population and imo that's why tc's were created. They are supposed to keep people logging in everyday for stabilizer. that's how i see it anyway.

    Absolutely no idea.
I started this game as pvper. I did pve for feat points mostly.
Combat system was great before all big changes.
Now that pvp has been ruined for many for years and combat is another push x to win, why im still here?
    Absolutely no idea.

I love my characters too much. I can realise them in ways I just can't in any other game. Despite the painful slog the revamp, the rng and the vendor prices has made everything.

    1. The player base overall is made up of good people. Sure there are a mountain of toxic players out there, but a lot of this I can avoid by keeping my time spent in the Hall Of Doom to a minimum. If someone is really really annoying I will break out the ignore on them. For the most part though I have met a lot of cool people on here.

    2. The grind. I know that a lot of people hate it, but the fact is that I don't get an actual challenge out of a lot of games. For all of it's flaws the "Feats" system has added longevity to the game, and even when I conquer that system I can move to alternate characters.

    3. I've put a lot of cash into this game. As a result I am not walking away without getting my moneys worth.

    4. Despite the issues over the scoreboard (Which has even cost me friendships at this point) I like the fact that the game requires teamwork. I really enjoy being a healer for the simple fact that I don't have to care at all about the scoreboard. I also like the fact that there is some strategy to it with the harder content. For example the US/JFA Elite raids. I have seen teams crumble because they tried the classic 1-1-1-5 set-up. So in these cases it is all about how you build your team. There is also that moment when a team "gels" and really gets on a role. I remember doing the GOM Elite 2nd boss feat (Killing them in different orders). First couple runs had it looking like we were chasing the impossible. A few runs in and we demolished every single feat in the Elite raid. Sadly despite adding each other I haven't seen half those people since the revamp hit.

    5. The "New" factor. So I know that seasonals are old news to most players here. However, they are not for me. Since I have came to the game I have got to see the St. Patrick's Day event (I didn't realize what it was so I got to run it twice, but I still got to preview it at least), Starro, Spring, Age Of Justice, Tides Of War, and there is all the stuff on the horizon. For all the flaws and shortcomings I will at least brag on the developers for constantly keeping things going.

    6. As someone stated above. Hope. It is a battle that isn't that is easy to maintain, but I do have hopes that the game can reach the potential that it is capable of. There is so much that could be done and hopefully they can get stuff figured out with the balancing/system and then only need to focus on new content. Either way, I have several more seasonal events and things like that to experience for the first time. So either way I am greatly looking forward to that.

Nothing really... I stopped waiting for this game to get good, after 4 years of playing. I don't really play anymore. Too many limitations, excuses, lazy development and money grapping. I've gone to other games that have their stuff together, and as a comic book reader, it's hard to leave a game like this, but it's just not good enough or worth the money.

As a comic book reader, it's easy to tell DCUO developers are not DC fans. Or at least the ones responsible for the narrative are not (everything feels so uninspired); nor do they hire professional writers to follow the really great foundations of the original DCUO content (the premise was no short of brilliant). All money is for the casino now, I guess.

I think they see the game as a chore. Then we get to play it as a chore ourselves. Frightening.

OP, I love PVP, even as broken as it is now. But the pve is in an all time low, as pve needs constant innovation and reimagining to be relevant; such focus is long overdue, and without any identity to itself, each 'new' piece of content smells of a blatant `copy-paste`, making it even more perishable, even to the point that it decays at the very moment it premiers!

I read many of you expect great things to come, but for a story-driven game, a hollow core is a fatal flaw. It feels as if every piece of content is mere filler, while we wait for something to actually happen. Right now, nothing we do is relevant in the long run.

Used to buy every piece of content, up until now. AoJ felt as a mockery to to me, because it promised much needed significance to the unsavory road the game had been following, then ended up being more filler. No more episodes for me until (if ever) the game gets some character back.

and thats the sad part IMO, and sadly you aren't alone in feeling that way (not hyped for new content) b/c me and a few others are feeling the same way.

And I've always looked forward to new content. But AF3 / AoJ and this coming 1 looked / looks boring.

For some reason the devs think the community wants these retro dc story arcs.

We want more recent dc story arcs. These niche story arcs like starro and per degaton only appeal to the older generations.

Personally I don't care about what lore they pull from, as long as they work their *** of to make it high quality and worth playing - However I DO have stories and characters I prefer over others.

^ this. I don't care about the story line, I care for high quality content that wouldn't mind walking about into over and over again. Haven't received anything like that since AF 2.

dont get me wrong I like all stories not just the few we have always saw (circe, WW, superman, batman ect) as those get old after 1-2 times of seeing them in the game.

So anything new is better then anything IMO.

but my comment is mainly about not the content itself but everything in the game atm and how the game itself is ran and conducted that has ruined most if not all of the fun for me and alot of my friends.

Hell I have 1 friend who went out and bought a xb1 just to not play DCUO and is playing fallout on xb1, which he had fallout on PS4.

another friend cycles between neverwinter and warframe, and rarely gets on DCUO anymore.

2 of my best friends dont play anymore and when they do they dont stay on long or dont care about really running all content like they use to, and its because they are tired of relearning the game and the cash grabs that are in the game now.

now imagine if old time players are feeling this way imagine how new players are going to feel about all of this nonsense ? I'd assume it would be even worse for them.

Also to address some of the people saying that the forums have very toxic people posting, I'm one of them to be fairly honest, I've stepped away from the game over about 2 weeks now, because I fed up with everything. The truth is that the reason why this game have such a toxic community is because the community is not happy with anything this game does and the only people to blame for this is the developers, not the players.

They have messed this game up so many times, that players won't have it anymore and then the general tone in here turns into complaining, because players feel that the love for the game is not there, but greed is. If you look at something in a negative way for too long, you become chronically negative about everything. So yes, the community is toxic and complains all the time about everything, but I totally get it.
