Currently there is no way to buy Velious as a gift for someone via the digital download service. If my mom was keen and wanted to get me this expansion then her only option would be to wait for release and then wait for amazon to ship it to her and then after a few days give me the key. Really SOE ... are you trying to make EQ2 go away?
Don't you trust your mom enough to let let her login as you to make the purchase? Or perhaps she could just send you the cash in a nice gift card and let you buy it yourself.
Actually, I'd like to be able to gift the digital version as well. It's just a really convenient way of buying multiple copies for families/people with several accounts. All the games I own on Steam were gifted to me, for instance. Obvoiusly it's not the end of the world that we can't gift it, but it would nevertheless be a nice option to have!
