Pliny the Elder was a Roman author, historian and early naturalist. His son tried to follow in his father's footsteps and so was known as Pliny the Younger. They were both influential in history mostly because their words have survived. In the online game Everquest there was a named creature called Phinigel the Autropos, the last of the Kedge, and underwater fish type with humanoid features. We called him Phiny for short. If Everquest 2 recreated the Kedge and included Phinigel, would that make the original Phiny the Elder and the EQ2 version Phiny the Younger?
No, it would be the same enity. Now if EQ1 Phiny managed to find a wife and get a son, and also named him Phinigel, and this son was the character put in the EQ2 Kedge, then we may have the Elder/Younger.
Little known fact, Phinny is actually only 20 years old and Kedge was the only place with rent cheap enough for him while he studies computer science in Ak'Anon (the commute is pretty bad but he makes it work)
