I recently upgraded an existing Heroic Character from 85 to 100 after buying the new Heroic Character level from the store. Claiming Overseer quests on the character gives normal experience as expected, but no Mercenary AA. Mercenary AAs are awarded as normal on characters who were already 85 via Heroic Character and also from characters who were levelled normally, so sounds like an issue for the uplift from HA 85 to HA 100. I raised a petition regarding this and was asked to also post in here, so others are aware.
I wasn't able to replicate this. Can you clarify: Which quest were you claiming the reward for? Did you have a mercenary hired? Did the reward claim window show that the selected reward would give Mercenary AA XP? Where are you looking to check that you got Mercenary AA XP? (AA window gauge/label, XP chat message)
Were you maxxed out on banked merc AAs? If you're at the cap limit, you won't get any AA messages until you spend some merc AA.
Is this about the Heroic, or Overseer? Normal or Merc exp? Overseer doesn't, and never has, awareded normal AA exp. Also, neither 85 nor 100 Heroic grant Merc AAs, you can only get those through normal exp. If a previously 85 Heroic character already earned (or auto granted) all the level 100 AA, there will be no additional AA added by applying a 100 Heroic. What level are you? There is a banked Merc AA cap.
@Velisaris_MS - the character has no Merc AAs spent or banked, it is purely a bazaar trader but I've levelled all my other characters already to 120 and this one was due next... @Soulbanshee - Merc AAs have been awarded as part of overseer quest rewards since their inception. It used to require you to have your Merc open and active to claim, but that was changed in a recent patch. @Meeko - In response to your questions: Can you clarify: Which quest were you claiming the reward for? I've claimed multiple quests over multiple days - please see log below. I am cycling 5 x 6 hour and 5 x 12 hour quests per day, setting 6 hour quests at ~0700 and 12 hour quests at ~1800, assuming they are available at that time... When you select the character experience option as a reward, have you made sure you're getting regular experience? Have you opened your AA window to see if the Merc AA experience is increasing at all? At level 100, choosing the character experience on a level 5 common 6 hour overseer task gives only 3.01% mercenary AA. A level 5 common 12 hour task gives 5.47% merc AA, and a level 5 common 24 hour tasks gives only 9.85% merc AA. These values are all according to the preview reward. I didn't actually claim the rewards to see if they were accurate.
Yes, you need to look at the actual experience on the bar. There is/was an issue with the new experience messages in chat not showing the correct percentage. @Gialana I open both the AA and Inventory window each time I claim a set of quests, so that I know when to spend the Merc AA points to avoid the cap. After the few days of claiming and seeing no movement at all (as per log above), this is what prompted me to raise the petition. Logging in this evening, Merc AA experience is now moving so perhaps something has been corrected in the background as a result of my petition which is an improvement over previously.
The combined Mercenary AA XP gained at level 100 from getting a critical success on the 13 quests listed would've only been ~97% of a single mercenary AA point. To the larger point, there's nothing unique about how Heroic Characters interact with Overseer or gain XP(Mercenary AA or otherwise). Regardless, I'm glad to see that you're noticing the movement now.
