Zoe was balanced!

    Zealot Overdrive armor debuff to 30%
    Added a fuel cost to the Zealot Overdrive, allowing up to 8 seconds of sustained use
    Reduced the indirect damage buff for Bursters when using Zealot Overdrive
    Indirect vs ESF
    Rank 1: +5% (~93 damage)
    Rank 2: +7% (~95 damage)
    Rank 3: +9% (~97 damage)
    Rank 4: +12% (~100 damage)
    Rank 5: +15% (~103 damage)

    I think I love you SOE, its about time.

    Oh, and lockdown bursters were also nerd, which is good for you pilots!

    Reduced the rate of fire/reload buff for Bursters when using Lockdown

    Having both additional damage and a timer lasting only 8 seconds is taking it a bit far.

    IMO, the additional reduction isn't needed -- ZOE makes you fairly weak. The timer, which still should be longer then 8 seconds, is appropriate nerf for ZOE.

    Burster nerf to ZOE and lockdown is undoubtedly needed for balance.

    I think that is false hope, since the VS will start complaining in 3,2,1, go.

    What the nanite, maybe it makes sense to change ONE aspect at a time? seriously haven't these people heard of the scientific method? You change ONE thing, so you then know what caused the difference in observation.

    Wait.. they added a fuel cost to it.. AND increased damage taken? Whut? The fuel cost alone was enough, the damage taken before was fine the way it was - having played both as and against ZOE maxes numerous times.

    Does it really matter? From what I read, most VS thought we could one-shot them with Decimators when they were using ZOE, with this we actually can.

    True but its also the test server so it might not make it to live, I just think that the direction of the changes they are taking might be a smart move, thats what got me excited.

    The biggest concern is the amount of max units on the field not individual abilities god help us fighting under the shield domes coming to Esamir be in a max suit or die

    I freakin hope they take note of how useless ZOE becomes in the test server now, at that level of increased damage taken, I would easily take max charge instead. At least that gives me a speed boost I can use without being worried about somebody coughing in my general direction.

    If they follow their previous "balancing" efforts, I imagine they go for a bracketing approach. Go too far one side, then to the other. Until they finally get the values right.

    8 seconds of uptime AND an additional 10% damage seems to be bracketing in the "too little use" end.

    And is this on top of the reduced speed, I wonder? Before its speed was reduced by around 25% I think. Still able to keep up with infantry but not sped up infantry, I found.

    I wonder how fast the fuel regenerates, and if now the EMP grenade will completely turn ZOE off.

    If they keep the fuel, which I believe they would, I will miss being able to cross-country with the ZOE. I liked knowing that if I missed a Sunderer at least it wasn't a "well, better respawn" time.

    Further reduce burster damage.
    I'm okay with this, the damage should have never been applied to bursters... same with the Lockdown.

    So we take further increased damage, can only use it for 8 seconds, and fully cert it to reduce the amount of bullets it takes to kill infantry by one.


    MEANWHILE!...

    Lockdown bursters still have increased fire rate and decreased reload speed. No timer on it...

    PERFECTLY FINE!

    8 seconds isn't even enough time to empty one mag.

    Brilliant job SOE.

    BTW, there is no cooldown on the PTS so those patch notes are wrong.

    Try standing still and eating dumbfires all day, everyone says the dps on lockdown is worth it, any player worth anything can take out a deployed max easily, unless they run right into it. We'll see how the feedback goes tho, it is a hefty nerf.

    LOL won't change a damn thing. I only used ZOE in bursts anyway, when I had a target and wanted to take them by surprise.

    So I only used it in bursts anyway. Don't worry in a couple of weeks the nerfers will scream again when they see it made no difference to the good players.

    The part that will suck is using ZOE for travel speed. You know.. across big wide plains where you can be seen shining like the sun, and ripe for any ESF to come along or Harasser to kill you... Back to the slow jog.

    15% damage is nothing... its like 1.5 bullets less, whoopedy doo. The best part of ZOE was the speed, not the damage. ESFs went down a hair faster with ZOE activated then with not, but they still went down regardless, cuz I pick my encounters.

    Without the speed, I'll just return to Charge. no biggie. Charge is clearly superior now. Intermittent use of it anyway, and no armor loss when you use it, and it scares the crap out of people you charge.

    No problem. Nerf it.

    Lockdown is a lot more situational that ZOE is and not nearly as useful, ZOE is good at everything, AI, AA and AV.

    A fuel cost was needed. Although I would have probably said the fuel cost alone was enough of a nerf, the rest was in conjunction with the added cost not necessary

    OH NOES!

    Now the VS have to use that ability in the correct situation with an actual risk just like the other factions! You can't have ZOE on all the time and play your MAX like a laboratory chimpanzee with electrodes in its brain! Whatever will the Vanu do?

    Probably abuse the crap out of the Saron even more then wonder why that gets nerfed too.

    Such rhetoric must make you feel better, because it surely doesn't help anything.

    Like, say TR Lockdown should have had armor shielding come online that only applied to explosive and direct rocket damage, to enable them to sit in the open a bit and unload without being rocket bait.

    Or make the lockdown MAX partially cloak while locked down. You can still see where the fire is coming from, but it would be harder to exactly target with rockets.

    See, those help people think of ways to better the game, and don't make you sound like a tool. Win / Win!
