    • Direct hit damage lowered from 1200 to 600
    "small"
    • Up x 5
  2. Kulantan

It is also changing resist types which is often more important than the base damage.

  3. Pikachu

Anyway is a nerf to an already underpowered weapon that nobody uses.

In a previous thread, they mentioned wanting to reduce its anti-tank potential; and, currently, both the direct shot and indirect splash of Zepher counts as Light Ordnance.
  5. MajiinBuu

Oh no, now it takes one extra shot to easily wipe out your hard counters

So I went and did the numbers for the actual damage difference including resist values. Still 50% or more loss in damage against 4 types of vehicles, 25% or more loss in damage against 3 more types. In fact, the damage will always be less, and only in three cases- sunderers, lightnings, and liberators- is the difference small enough to justify the term "small direct damage reduction."

Apparently the Zephyr was OP as heck before, because they nerfed the crap out of its AV, nerfed its splash to hell (enjoy taking 5 rounds at 0.5m to kill a single flak armored infantry), and nerfed its ammo capacity as well. I believe it now holds the honor of the lowest number of ammo clips carried by any vehicle weapon, and the smallest increase per rank as well.

The nerf to direct damage is the least of my worries... the splash nerf is pretty harsh considering it's, now former, anti-infantry role.
  8. Pikachu

It's funny that they didn't touch the stupid amount of drop it has that makes it 3x harder to hit anything than when using dalton.

    So much this.

I get that it is currently really good at farming infantry. People like to use it to farm infantry. The weapon was designed from launch to farm infantry. Suddenly SOE decides to release a new weapon that they want to take over the anti-infantry role, and so the zephyr needs to step aside and not be very good at it anymore. Well that's okay, because it's still decent against vehicles.... except now it won't be. Nobody equips it with the intent of using it as a multipurpose weapon. They equip it to farm infantry. But now, for just $7.00 you can use the new, shiny Duster for all your infantry farming. And the Zephyr falls into a forgotten oblivion.

Yes it's already weak for that role. They should have done like in the first phase of liberator update of raising the direct damage from 1200 to 1800, reducing the hard targets STK by 33%, not increase it.

Wow, nice table. Where did you get the numbers from?
  12. Riku

    Ridiculous.
    Seriously $OE.
  13. Atis

How else could they make it all-purpose weapon without making it all-around-good one and increase duster sales?
  14. FateJH

Those numbers are listed on the wiki. Vehicle armor and damage reistsances page. In the second table, if you hover over the text in the first column, you will get a tooltip that lists which weapons/damages are (currently) considered a part of that category.

You know what, duster is still a POS. Cause DAT SPREAD
  16. Kunavi

Well they have to sell more Dusters. NS = SOE.
  17. Kunavi

Yes, I wasn't impressed by the way they fixed the Duster... "Fixed"... They made the other weapons more garbage. Nice fix.

*Meant they made the Zephyr garbage. Not sure about Dalton or Shredder yet.

The popularity of shredder will now go back what it was before dalton nerf. Everyone will use dalton again. Few used zepher since it's first nerf and no one is sure going to use it now.

Lovely. Whats next fotm nerf into the ground to match up thing?
  20. MajiinBuu

You guys are overreacting. It's literally one extra shot to kill anything, with a small exception to the galaxy and harasser. It won't make much of a difference unless you already couldn't hit anything in the first place.
The resist and damage adjustments results in the following changes
    • MAX (3 HK to 4HK)
    • Flash (1HK to 2 HK)
    • Harasser (4 HK to 6 HK)
    • Sunderer (16 HK to 17 HK)
    • Lightning (9 HK to 10 HK)
    • MBT (10 HK to 11 HK)
    • Phalanx (9 HK to 11 HK)
    • Galaxy (12 HK to 16 HK)
