You guys really screwed up faction colors

I have been able to make the new colors work. I play Vanu, I set them to a bright green or blue. NC is yellow, and TR red. I didn't have any trouble getting used to it, but the old colors were fine.
  2. Phyr

The colors were not fine, as the multitude of threads from colorblind people shows.
  3. Talizzar

No you can't unless there was a ninja patch.
  4. Rhapsody

In the options (settings) on the right-side of the 'general' (i think?) tab, you'll see the empire color settings. The top 'selection' drop-down menue of that allows you to set them back to "Empire specific" which is the 'old' color scheeme.
  5. Internet_Zombie

I was able to just manually change the colours to whatever I wanted and I changed them back to what they were, no problems at all whatsoever

Like others here, I never saw the need to change the colors to begin with - but I have a hard time understanding why so many have issues with the red=shoot, blue=friendly scheme. Maybe it's because I don't care which other faction the target is from..?
  7. Talizzar

No sir it is not. That sets TR to red, NC to blue and Vanu to Purple. I want all enemies in red. I want to know what cap points are owned by whom.

Purple doritos are hard to see and blue. If TR is red then I end up killing TR.
  8. {joer

Yes so we need to change colors for everyone then! A simple check box (set colors original) would make everyone happy.
  9. DNSCRASH

Have we come to expect anything else from SOE?
  10. exLupo

I didn't like it so I set the colors to empire and ended up shooting a bunch of my own guys...

Having a rough time coping with a whole three dropdowns, are ya? It's ok, little shaver, not everybody is cut out for the hard stuff.
  11. DNSCRASH

    Uhm...

    Yeah.

PLS TELL R TO ME HOW 2 PLAY THIS GAME OK PLESE BOSS!?

Problem is, I want to see base UI elements in faction colors, and enemies in allies vs enemy colors. The new system doesn't allow that. Solution is to add seperate color options for map/base elements, along with the options for infantry and vehicles that they have already.

Oh, and color options for squad/platoon too. Are those in there somewhere? Meh.

Maybe just a "back to standard colors" option would be less work...
  13. exLupo

I can do this but you'll have to meet me behind the woodshed. I'll make sure to wear my 'coon skin cap.
  14. crissHill

It's because you are too new to the game to realise the difference between the new colorscheme options and the old colorscheme options.
  15. Accuser

If you could do that we wouldn't be complaining.
Setting it so that TR capture ratio and terminals are Red causes all friendlies to show up as Red (where previously friendlies were blue).
Setting friendlies to Blue causes terminals, capture points, and capture ratio to be Blue (previously NC colors).
Neither of these things change the color of territory on the map, or the influence meter on your HUD. So in addition to the above problems, you have to remember that Blue is friendly capture percent, but Blue is also enemy (NC) hex influence.

An option to use "Classic HUD" would negate every complaint.

TR seem to have gotten the short end of the stick with the color changes because of all the mis-matching and there being no way to get everything back to the way it was. As NC, though, the only thing that is a problem is the fact that health bars also take on the color of the nametag. I actually really, really, really don't like this. Contrast between the color of the health bar and the name tag is a huge factor in making both of them more readable, and the hard yellow color it had before stood out by far the best.

Or maybe it was hard green. I wouldn't know as I'm colorblind, which just makes it all the more ironic that the color changes have only made things worse for me.

As it stands, TR probably gained the most from the color changes, even though it means a short relearning period.

Anything is better than what TR used to have, which was a minimap where red could mean either hostile or friendly depending on object. Made the minimap a lot less useful as you had to focus instead of just glance on it.

Has SOE said anything about this yet?

As a TR I completely understand the rage. As I've said a thousand times, NC need not comment on this since the colors automatically make sense for them(although I have heard some NC say it's difficult to tell enemy VS by taco color, since blue and purple are very similar).

The best I can say for TR is to do the following:
1 Set to Friend vs For coloring.
2 Set TR to Green or Turqoise.

Recall that before, on the minimap that when we capped points they showed as green, blue for nc, purple VS. So now the minimap makes sense.

Also, now friends will show as green dorritos (a friendly color, like blue) so u dont accidentally shoot them like you do when colors are set to empire-specific.

This is the closest to the original setup so at least I know:
1 I don't have to worry about TKing teammates, and
2 I understand if an enemy or TR are capping a point

I might set VS to hot pink so I can tell when they're capping vs NC on my minimap.

TLDR : Bring back original color option as a "classic" option, until then my quick fix is the best logical option for a TR

No inappropriate touching behind the shed... Coonskin cap or not.
