Yesterday I got 570+ kills without dying. 1 man to farm them all #PSWorldRecord

I don't know where you get your teapots, the ones that i have experience with wouldn't survive landing on the ground from 1m at 9.81m/s^2. I don't think libs are anywhere near as fragile, in fact i don't recall when was the last time my AA tube killed a lib and sure as hell it was not for lack of trying.

The ground usually is busy because it's directly affected by EVERYTHING, so only a fraction can pay full attention to sky heroes who get to play pick-and-choose at any given moment, then only fraction of that even has access to meaningful tools. Then there is the problem of smartasses exploting the gimbal lock, where no infantry based solution can be used because it's unable to aim high enough, not to mention many bases look like wells (high walls everywhere or huge cliffs allowing uncontested approach by air units) where you get to see the airgod 1second before the attack when he flies in and out at their leisure.

The only reason I bring up kills per hour is because you mentioned directives (based on kills) were hard. I simply noted you feel this way because you are a bad sniper.

And about you beeing to "busy" to actually kill people:
    1. Shooting recon darts or setting up motions spotters takes seconds. Hardly a reason your sniping should be suffering.
    2. Setting up traps? If you were setting up effective ones you wouldn't have trouble getting kills. That is what traps are supposed to accomplish, right? Or do you write your victim in chat and then let them go knowing that you "got" them?
    3. Supporting your allies by doing what? After you have set up your darts or motion spotter in a good spot all you have to do is support your team by killing enemies and spotting them while you do it. Again no excuse to be slacking off.

" I dont sit in front of a computer all day playing Planetside 2, and if you bothered to check my profile, you'd see that I've gone months without playing the game." -And here is the obligatory "I don't have enough time to get good" excuse. I have 200 hours of playtime on you. and with you having 80% playtime as infil (almost all of it spent with a sniper rifle in hand) and me only having 30% as an infil (and me still being better) means that that excuse is invalid in more than one way...

Now to the main point of your argument that sniping takes more skill. You are wrong. Gunning a lib well takes as much skill as sniping well. Sniping a moving target is no harder than trying to dalton ESFs for example. You severely overestimate the skill needed to be a sniper compared to being an effective liberator pilot/gunner team.

    FUN FACT OF THE DAY:

You can see incoming armour or infantry pushes much better from a high vantage point due to terrain.

    Pop quiz:

Who has the higher vantage point?

The infiltrator jerking off 80m+ away or the Liberator at anywhere from 10m off the ground to 900m+ off the ground.

    Second question:

Would you rather be able to murder everything coming out of spawn or see the entire push coming at you on the minimap like something out of alien?

    Third question:

If a liberator is 12m long and the infiltrator is 2m tall, how many kills does the heavy get?
  4. Dreadnaut

Liberator isn't overpowered at all. Render range is broken right now, and that's not a Liberator issue. Fix that render issue, and you won't see Lib spammers targeting infantry from the flight ceiling with a Zepher.

You don't know enough about the air game to understand the issue isn't even with the Liberator, and one GOOD ESF pilot can wreck a 3 man Lib easily. Anyone who cares enough to try and kill a Liberator, can. The problem is, people would rather complain about something than actually take the time to deal with it. That's just life oozing into a video game right there.

Your sniper spotting is completely useless, and you're not warning anyone of anything they don't already know about. You aren't Vasily Zaytsev, Chris Kyle, Carlos Hathcock, or Simo Hayha. Permadeath doesn't happen in PS2, you aren't changing the course of a battle, you're absolutely useless as a sniper. You do absolutely nothing for your empire.

Now, that being said, should you stop sniping? HECK NO!!! You should snipe like crazy and you should play this game exactly how you want to play it. You should not take what I've said as a slight against you, just your opinion on what your preferred class is doing. You're getting kills, and headshots are damn fun, and it should make you happy...however, you aren't helping your empire just your own stats. Ya know what?? That's totally ok.

Now there I gotta disagree. A sniper suppressing an av tuirret nest can change the course of a battle. A sniper suppressing other snipers allowing his fellow infantrymen to push up through an open area is not "being completely useless". Just because you don't notice what snipers are doing doesn't make them useless.
A good sniper can be very helpful to his squad and his empire. Everytime the enemy sniper fire slacks off? Thank an infiltrator on your team!

Didn't read all the posts but the ammount of salt in this thread is incredible. Can't we all just say 'gz' and move on? These guys obviously did something that requires an extreme level of dedication and determination (and in my opinion also skill). Infantry players should not interpret this thread as a big middlefinger in their direction because frankly, there's nothing that suggests that. Sure, it would be otherwise if this thread was titled: One man to farm all ground peasants.
  8. JGDK

Good job mate, my lib gunner made 590 kills in 5 hours. But i cant remember how many times we died. :)
  9. Dreadnaut

Even dying that's still an impressive #.

I don't get all the crazy rage from what we did. LESS than ONE kpm.
  10. Bruhja

Ya i find the same with weapons like a silenced PDW as a LA. I can own so many people in 1 run that i feel sorry for them. on both ends of the SMG's i scream nerf the damn things already and refund the certs or station cash.

there is so many balance issues with this game this thread just proves it all the more.
  11. FnkyTwn

You don't get it because he's in your outfit. So the reality is that you do get it, but you're willing to overlook it because you don't feel like leaving Cry Me a Reaver. That's where your apathy comes from. Just letting you know bro.

Are you farming up 500+ kills with your PDW? 50? 20? If you went 50-1 with the PDW people here would be singing your praises. We'd all be overjoyed for you, because we all know how hard that would be, unless you glitched a wall/floor and were shooting people through it. The comparison seems silly, and you should really be using the MKV if you want a solid silenced SMG.

This guy farming up 570 kills with no deaths is the equivalent of killing people through the floor.
  12. Whatupwidat

So they were cheating by killing 570 without dying?

    How?
  13. FnkyTwn

I said it's the equivalent. If I wanted to say it was cheating I would have said that.

It's silly watching people trying to play devils advocate over this.

Lock-on missiles shouldn't lose their locks through trees on Hossin. That would fix this glaring bug he was able to take advantage of.
  14. Dreadnaut

Why would I leave my Outfit? Getting less than 1 kill per minute and people are raging is what I don't get. It's absolutely insane for anyone to get upset over that.

Thanks for 'letting me know bro'...
  15. Hatesphere

people are raging more over your random bragging. the achievement is called one man to farm them all, not a man and a **** ton of support to help him farm them all. just saying.
  16. MAXArmar

    No it's not.
  17. FnkyTwn

    Is too.
  18. Auxill

    Not bad at all man.

So, as a new Planetside 2 gamer, I feel I may have some unique perspective among so many veterans of the game. Before I was able to run Planetside 2, I spent a lot of time playing Tribes 2 and Tribes Next; predecessors of this game's concept, I believe. There were people then that complained about the power of shrikes and bombers.

Yes, speed is powerful, altitude and maneuverability make one even more powerful; but the Galaxy is still a flying barn, and the lib is still much slower than an esf. Skilled air in Tribes required opposing air to kill it. People didn't complain quite as much, they'd zerg the air until the skilled pilot was down.

There seems to be prejudice against the pilots and gunners in PS2. It requires skill to fly, it requires the same skill to gun as it does on the ground. Your chances of dying are somewhere near equal, if the enemy has any skilled esf. A scythe is usually the end to my lib run. A2G adds a vital dimension to the game. Only libs can bust an armor column in seconds, that is a good thing.

Let me reiterate, don't hate the pilot, become a better pilot and end him.

500 kills without a death isn't a sign of being overpowered. It's not like they sat still and killed 500 opposing enemies in ten minutes. They rode around and took cheap, tactical shots on unsuspecting prey. Had any coordination on the other factions occurred, they would've rounded up ten or so esf and blown the whole CMR fleet out of the sky. They didn't, did they?

Winning an alert isn't done on the ground, it's done by the whole team. Air is included. You grounders may not appreciate your friendly esf until the enemy lib is busting your tank from behind. It's balanced, I think.

A lib has to be tactical, or its dead. It takes skill.

it is when u play infartry only (LA exlusive) with a low end pc with only 20 fps in 96+ vs 96+ fights.
