WTF on Name Change Feature!

See, This is why I do a monthly membership. They already have your money for that entire year. Anything you do now to cancel it means nothing as a threat. However, If I canceled my membership, Well, That would be money lost now. Not money lost a year from now. I have zero intentions on canceling my membership so long as faction diversity does not die within this game.

I always put alot of thought into my names when I join a game, Often times, I will spend 10-20 minutes just coming up with an original and nice name that has no numbers or stupid makeshift letters.

Yes Konstantinn, sustainable income. Do you have any grasp of how much money Microsoft made for years due to relatively cheap name changes with XBL? People are fickle creatures, and get bored of names; Hell, a lot of people changed their names over, and over, and over again to include clan tags and the like in their name. It would be a great boon to SOE if they could just figure out that **** like this would make them a -lot- of money from more than just whales.

Hey guys, instead of playing (kinda) couldn't we just make it where you need SC (or whatever it is now) to change your name....or if you don't have $$$ they can give certs to change their name....im not talking about 1000 certs...more like 10000 to change their name so that people don't abuse getting certs to change their name and if they did ITS A LOT OF TIME AND CERTS TO GET IT!

Is it any surprise? The monthly sub at an industry standard 15$ is the only normally priced thing in this game. Everything else is insanely expensive. Not only do I think it has been a major detriment to the game since launch, really holding it back, it also makes anyone associated with the production come off as really scummy. Players start to feel like victims or prey instead of valued customers or part of a community. Planetside 2 has been a quagmire of missed opportunities and greed, I think the pricing exemplifies that more than anything.

i was gladly willing to pay $50 for a server transfer token... but... it never came... now i dont care anymore

This is absurd. I've wrote a support ticket about the cost and they said to come to the forums, but seems like they haven't changed this feature since January 2015.

The price is to make posible but not so easy for quick changing names. OK my solution Drop price $10 first week every month with 1 week wait for name change to take place. Bam done.

I get that they don't want people changing names too often, but $25 is too much. $10-15 seems much more reasonable, particularly if we can change a toons gender at the same time.

Saw a character named |l|Il|lIIl||lIllIII|lIlI| ...... some cap i's, some lower L's, and whatever the hoopdeee things on the \ button. Try reporting that shiz b4 they had the last kill short cut option.

yeah 25$ for a change name is ridiculous. if people want to change their name in the game it might as well be damn free. I'd make that one dollar not the effing price for a MORE THAN DECENT MEAL AT A RESTAURANT!

If there's a problem with players changing their name too often (which there isn't because who gives a ****!) then just make it only possible to change it every couple or days or months. That's it.

I repulse it, they are ok just for catch my money but StarCitizen coming.

I made up a name that I thought sounded alien. Turns out Zavatun is an actual European name.
I wanted to change it to something else, but $25 US translates into $45 in New Zealand.
That's more than half my weekly grocery bill.
In a country where even the poor are wealthy by world standards, they have no concept of how little money people have in other countries. Planetside 2 seems like a game designed by, and for, rich people only.

Well it's not like they based the prices on New Zealand's currency...
Can't have everything based on the lowest currency rate world-wide, you usually base it on your own country's averages, given it'll be converted into that in general on sales.

As well, it's a name change and this thread is a twice necro.
