It's funny to me lock-ons are role-shifted to hunt 'big game' that moves slowly and doesn't need the lock-on accuracy.

True, but I like the encouragement to hunt libs, which for too long have been kings of the skies. ESF's should become Air Superiority Fighters, with a supplemental role against ground targets. The problem is that it is simply too rewarding to firebomb infantry, novices do not have the skill to consistently keep on target for the multiple minutes it takes to kill galaxies and libs with the nosegun, this change will make them more enticing targets, while at the same time making defending them also more rewarding. Right now the meta is either go multirole and shoot infantry, fight the other esf that came to kill infantry, then go back to killing infantry. Or you consider yourself an ace, so you go sit at the enemy warpgate and shoot down everything that leaves. As with anything in this game, rolling with a team is more fun, but a2a locks were too effective in groups, giving a single pilot no chance to evade, fight back, or run away. The move to replace them with coyotes has me worried, but at least they encourage a rushing style that is somewhat counterable, compared to sitting at range and sniping you with lockons.

Lemme guess, never even flown a Liberator before?

And if you had any experience in the air, you'd also realize that in the right hands, an ESF can wipe the floor with a Liberator.

    Hahahaha.

You're not going to do **** against a racer liberator with afterburner and an expert dalton gunner.

Racer Liberator is only about the same speed as an ESF, a Racer ESF with AB is far faster. So my Racer ESF will do nothing except casually hang back and rip you a new one with my nosegun. Or, better yet, you can just man up and go close range with rotary. Dalton isn't hitscan, and the Liberator isn't a butterfly either. I've talked to some of the best pilots, both Liberator and ESF, I've flown for, gunned for and flown with some of the best pilots in the game. And when a good ESF wants you dead, you don't get a choice.

Not only that, but the absurdity of your claim that the Liberator is king of the skies also relies on players with literally thousands of hours of Liberator play alone.

Now, as far as I recall, Dalton gunners with thousands of hours logged don't exactly grow on trees. So even if a highly skilled Dalton gunner could kill any pilot in the game(Which it still can't), the scenario should be rare enough to be a non-issue, let alone warrant such negative feedback.

Of course, we're accomplishing nothing but venting hot air by babbling like this, all sentiment and no substance. So I'll bring some stats in.

According to the Oracle stats, the Dalton bellygun holds an approximate 30KPH across all three factions total, averaging 10KPH for each faction. This means that over the course of 24 hours, each faction only gets around a max of 240 aircraft kills, and this is split between Liberator, ESF and Valkyrie kills.

Once again, according to the Oracle, Liberators caused an impressive .61% of total ESF deaths in the "All BR" bracket. Even in the mythical higher tier gameplay, this number only goes up to around .75% of ESF deaths.

Unsurprisingly, ESF noseguns are among the top causes of death for a Liberator, only being beaten out by suicide.

Fun fact, Vanguards kill more ESF's then Liberators, even in Q4 gameplay. In the All BR bracket, the only MBT that kills less ESF's then the the Dalton is the FPC.
