i spent money for station cash specifically for the AV turret, so i'd be upset unless if i got a cash refund.

Happy. If something's gonna be that boring to play it should be indirect artillery.

''Sick of this cheesy BS'' say the vehicle spawn sheller.
  4. Phos!

Implying vehicles are better or even different for spawn camping than infantry.

When I heard an AV turret was being added I though of an SPG-9 type turret, maybe with a gun shield.

Wasn't expecting to get a mobile TOW launcher.

You can keep my sc and just remove the thing. It won't be missed.

Get rid of them, the way they function today is horribly overpowered.
Would rather see them go than keep them as is.

If they can shoot from the top of something out of render distance, out of 'spotting' distance, it's broken, time to remove them until reworked.

Amazing...and all in the same post...

They've been trying to get this to work for almost a year now, it just doesn't. Any fix is going to have to shorten the range to where infantry normally would render for a vehicle.

And by the way, this isn't just a problem with the MANA. The disparity between render ranges for infantry and vehicles is a problem for all AV, especially the Lancer, Comet and Fractures due to their accuracy. See this video for example:

Infantry AV is taking out tanks and sundies like mad while I, a sniper with a 10x scope, can't see them. Since the other side of the building was held by VS forces nobody could advance enough to get into render range for those AV infantry. So we're stuck in this stupid meat grinder, where all our vehicles are shredded on the approach by infantry we can't see and can't damage. This isn't "unbalanced", it's broken. The MANA is only the most blatant example of this problem.

    This!

    Elitist tankers.

As someone who plays on both sides of the divide loads, there only really a threat when your charging into a prepared defensive position.

And then you've ****** up and deserve to die.

As with MANY, many, many, many things in PS2 its a case of people needing to learn to die with some grace.

I'm not usually one to take anything away from the infantry, but the AV turret as it stands is a bad design.

The Engineer is the most complete class and could stand to have the AV turret removed without causing too much angst.

That said, they should add MORE to the infantry repertoire as a whole IMHO.
  13. Camycamera

nope, it ain't going any time soon.
  14. Richard Nixon

True. I'd have no problem with the turret or any AV weapon... if the user actually rendered while operating it.

Infantry should be hopeless and only serve as exp-givers to vehicle drivers :D
  16. eldarfalcongravtank

what's wrong with you people? shouldnt a small metal turret shooting a single rocket outrange and outgun a heavy high-tech main-battle tank with a large-caliber cannon?
  17. Kociboss

I agree. To quote myself from other thread:

  18. Equal2

    No not realy.

But id rather see the range reduced and maybe the dmg tweaked.
  19. EliteEskimo

False, they also pop up in the middle of large good open field battles and then often completely ruin them making them infantry only open field battles. Either way they need to render all the time or have their range reduced. After over 8 months they don't consistently render, so it's time for the developers to admit they can't consistently make them render and reduce the range to max infantry render distance.

The fact that SOE seems to completely ignore the issue of AV Turret while focusing on balance in vehicles has made me lose hope in SOE. They may be talented enough to make a decent game, but they just don't have what it takes to make an amazing game. I suppose something is better than nothing
