Would you be happy or upset if they removed AV Mana Turrets from game and refunded certs/sc?

    If they were totally removed?

I am sick and tired of this cheesy BS..

little disappointed actually, even though I've been using the AI turret a lot more and it isn't often that I get much use of the av turret.

But if they'll give back the SC, totally cool with it
  3. DashRendar

Yeah, I've been thinking this. It's kinda just bad design and doesn't fit the game.

I agree. People talk about the HA all the time but i think that engineer is too strong at the moment, they have the best, its just my opinion. The AV mana turret is very op x)

I'd be filled with glee. I've yet to understand how this item was added to the game. Every time I use one I feel like an ***. It at least needs to be nerfed to the ground as its basically better than a tank once you position it right and get the feel of hitting moving targets.

A guided missile with a 1000m effective range with infinite ammo and hits with the power of a tank shell? Lolz.

A few of these on a tower shutdown entire armor pushes worth 10x the amount in resources.

Would be happy to see it go, 1km range, guided decimator with infinite ammo all while either being completely invisible or so tiny you can't reliably be hit, lol, whoever thought that was a good idea should be fired if they haven't been already.

I'd much rather see a radical change. When they first announced they were making an AV gun, I envisioned something totally different:

    1) has a front shield
    2) has a much higher RoF - we're talking ~60 RPM
    3) has much lower damage per round (but probably not dissimilar DPS)
    4) has a much shorter range / CoF (max effective range: 250m)
    5) fires shells, not rockets

So instead of relying on insane distance to be safe, the front shield is designed to absorb some of the return fire. It could take probably one main tank shell... the second would kill it. But the idea is not to find a sniper spot and tank-snipe, but to throw it down as a quick stop-gap or as part of an ambush then abandon it after you've fired maybe a half-dozen rounds.

Much like the AI turret's usage, really.

Long-range (>300m) vehicle warfare should be done with vehicles. Infantry render distance issues and simply infantry size makes the 800m-range AV weapon unbalanced. The fact that the gun practically requires a mouse clutch to be effective at its optimum range is just more of an insult, in my opinion.

That said, if a radical change is not an option then yeah, take it away and refund me. In its current state it isn't healthy for the game.

I like Kid Gloves's suggestion of making it a more short-range option. The sniping is hard to justify. Dumbfire shells instead of these guided rockets, a shield that absorbs a tank cannon shot, and I think it would be better balanced than it is now. That will also remove "long range AV" from the engineer's toolkit and make the classes a bit more refined.

Next on the list, remove C4 from every class except Light Assault.
  9. Hoki

So basically anything that kills your tank.

I would say they should do very low damage to sunderers since sunderers are so goddamn slow and fat and essential to infantry fights.

I don't use it or vehicles so I'm not impacted by it greatly .. So wouldn't worry me if it was removed
  11. TomoB

I use AV turret all the time because it's so OP. Can kill tanks with it, can kill infantry with it. One time I decided to try AI turret again but switched back to AV after I pulled it out and tried to shoot enemy tank with it simply out of habit... "Oh yeah, right, no AV turret". Laughed my *** off.
  12. Axehilt

It's a good design in the sense that while providing ammo to a squad of AV/AA heavies, an engineer should have something useful to do. (And logically that useful thing should be deploying a turret for AV or AI.)

It's only a bad design in the sense that it has perfect accuracy from extreme range right now, and it should have the same range limitations of other infantry AV.

So it shouldn't be removed, it should be balanced.

It'd make me happy, my game would get better AND I'd get my SC back :p

Since people also complain about HA .. Shield + LMG + RL .. Would it be better to remove the turret and move RL over to Engi's..

So HA would become the grunt AI class while Engi became the dedicated AV class ( RL, Mines, C4 )

I'd be a bit disappointed. The weapon is pretty interesting to use, and interesting weapons make for a better game than one filled with lock-ons...

I would be indifferent, but I think a better solution would be to shorten the rocket lifespan to 4-5 seconds, instead of it's current 9~ish seconds.
  17. Gav7x

    I would be happy
  18. Jeslis

I would love for it to be gone.

Meh. I never really used mine much. I wouldn't really miss it, and an extra 1000 certs is always nice.
  20. Tekuila

    Incredibly happy beyond belief.
