**DISCLAIMER** I recommend watching in normal or large size as opposed to full screen for maximum viewing pleasure at high speed. Also, this video is almost an hour long! It's not intended to be watched all at once, though you are welcome to do so if you please. I thought it was an interesting idea and wanted to put together a time-lapse sort of video that spanned the entire "journey to Auraxium" in the race for world first with the new NS SMG. Both the beginning and end are in real time, but please feel free to skip through it as necessary. I hope it serves to be memorable of some of the really fun fights for those of you who were awesome enough to hang out with me overnight in my stream chat at http://itzmurda.com while this was all going down.

If you didn't know, for the release of GU13, Matt Higby proposed a challenge to see who could be the first person to achieve the Auraxium Medal with the new NS-7 PDW SMG. After staying up until 8am, something that I'm getting far too old to do on a regular basis like I used to, I was the first person to do just that. It happened roughly after a 10.5 hour play session with small breaks, which has been condensed down into about 50 minutes at 12x speed for this project.

This video stemmed from an idea that I had the night of the event while streaming, and I really wanted to make it come to life. Unfortunately, I struggled with how long to make the video and how fast to speed it up. Since Sony Vegas only allows 12x speed maximum without having to re-render a video, I decided to use 12x as my value. The downside of that is that the video is really long, however, if I sped it up any faster it would quickly turn into a garbled mess. As it is, even at 12x speed, PlanetSide 2 is fast-paced enough that some parts are hard to follow, especially if you are unfamiliar with the continents and bases.

Nonetheless, I hope you enjoy it, whether you watch it for 53 minutes or 53 seconds. As always, thanks for all of your support and please be encouraged to comment, rate, and/or subscribe!

Also, you can follow my PlanetSide 2 daily live stream over at http://itzmurda.com or http://twitch.tv/itzmurda_tv where all of this was originally recorded.

An auraxium in one sitting with an infantry weapon, man I have to give you props for that. I would have bashed my head into a puddle on my desk before then.

Nice vid. Protip: you can set the playback speed to 0.25 by clicking the cogwheel. this allows you to see parts of the video that you think are interesing in managable speeds. :)
  4. Oreo202

That must have been painful. The gun is really awful in most situations.

Good call! I totally forgot about that. Is there a setting to enable it, or is it not there because it's my own video? I only see the resolution choices when I click mine.

This is really impressive! Great work and hope you had gotten some rest after the session.

10 hour gaming session is not a bad deal as long as he had fun doing it - I work 12+ hours daily (in front of monitors), but it is not bad since I do have fun.

Maybe you need the HTML5 beta enabled? just add /html5 at the end of the youtube homepage link
  8. ItZMuRdA

Ah yes! I had left that beta program when I was having some issues uploading. Thanks!

Added it as a *Note in the YouTube description and credited you. Thanks :)

It was the first thing i thought of when the action flew by so quickly :p only downsite is lack of sound is slowmotion mode.
  11. ItZMuRdA

Yeah. I ideally wanted to speed it up less, but it got even longer, as you can imagine. Settled on this, hope it was the right decision.
  12. Wezdor

If you slow it down it ends up being only 3x sped up. The 12x in itself is nicely fast enough to skip through most of it to find an interesting part you might want to then watch in a more slow fashion.

Works pretty well if you ask me :)

Also, shame you don't play on woodman :p

I played 14 hours straight once with the minigun and only amassed 358 kills :(. I think my total kills was 500 with RL and MSW-R included. I need to use squad spawn beacon more instead of running solo . That is the longest sitting I have done in this game. I've done 36 hours straight before in other mmos. Way back in the day I did 60 hours straight on ffxi before I had to stop because my cognitive facilities were shutting down and had no clue about anything.
  14. ItZMuRdA

Damn, 60 hours? That's pretty rough! I've been in my fair share of races, or even just brand new patch/expansion/game releases where we can't help ourselves but want to play constantly, but haven't been quite up that high. Thanks for sharing!

    Crazy bastid.

Nice work OP. Out of interest, what's your verdict on the PDW? I quite like it but the general forum consensus seems to be that it's underpowered and brings nothing to the game we didn't already have.
  17. MightQuinn

I tried it in VR on the test server before it was released. No reason to get it if you already have a favorite PDW...my opinion only...
  18. LowTechKiller

Why bother getting the gold one if you're going to cover it with Circuit Board camo, and then get Auraxium in a single sitting? Will you even use it again?;)

    Wow.

in response to some marathon posts above, my longest was right at the release of TF2. I played 23 1/2 hours straight - with reasonable pee breaks and food runs to the kitchen. Many beers, chicken wings, and red bulls were consumed.

    I'm curious about this too.
