Tell you what I'm getting pissed of with.................

People saying Woodman TR are rubbish, we are this or we are that....................

Let me give you some FACTS............there are five or six TR outfits on Woodman that work bloody hard to keep our chin up. Behind the scenes the leaders talk and rally to help each other out, mostly working together.

Ok so we have to pool the resources of five outfits to match the same number as the one KOTV, and usually lose our foothold on another continent doing so.

Keep on POO POO'ing our faction is not going to encourage anyone else to join it IS IT.............................................

TR of WOODMAN have GOOD leaders and outfits that work hard to fly the flag for TR ..............................

IF YOU CANT STOMACH IT ..............FIGHT ANOTHER FIGHT ...........STOP PUTTING THE WOODMAN TR DOWN ....##

CHIN UP DRY YOUR TEARS >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> GRAB YOUR GUN AND START SHOOTING ................................................................

The only thing we lack at the moment is population, there is nothing wrong with our resolve...........................

As a veteran of Woodman VS I can say exactly the opposite. KOTV are arguably the best thing to happen to the server. PS2 is ALL about massive scale - and KOTV can provide this: with platoons and squad leaders coordinating over teamspeak, proper tactical oversight and most importantly great fun.

It's up the other factions to organise. KOTV are just highly, highly organised. When a platoon leader tells people to redploy, everyone redeploys. If organisation is a problem then this game has a problem.

Seeing as you are both part of the outfit and incredibly impressed by it, i'm afraid you're not exactly the best man to judge the outfit objectively. Even your character names include KOTV and are in every branch of it, so any discussion about this with you is entirely pointless. Ask any other outfit or player of any given faction on woodman, essentially everyone dislikes KOTV and for valid reasons.

    Fixed.

I've been in enough different outfits on different servers (Miller/Woodman) to know what is fun and effective. KOTV is fun and gets the job done. Leadership is clear and people follow orders.

As PS2 is ALL ABOUT massive scale, an outift like KOTV is the place to be. If I want a smaller scale game I play BF or something else. Or sometimes I play PS2 solo.

And I've got no issue with the TR on Woodman at all. I enjoy playing against them.

You cant blame people for getting annoyed at the population problems guys KOTV being the largest outfit and the ZOE issue made a lot of people quit woodman recently.

That being said they really don't "help" the server situation much, as effective as they are at winning alerts they just cause bad game play and which is a fault of the dev's, not KOTV.

Nothing against KOTV tactics here they found the best way to win and keep doing it, but for the other factions having 2/3 platoons dropping on a hex causes all fights to stop and is very unfun.

Due to the fact that KOTV never really takes a break either the other factions are struggling to maintain players and will never really be able to compete by forming that size of outfit, And if your that bothered about winning there are other servers.

Anyway my message here is don't get annoyed at KOTV they are just trying to win certs which you cant blame them for.

Blame the dev's for rewarding bad gameplay, "troop redeployment the game" shouldn't be PS2's end state hopfully.

KOTV leadership is horrible and rarely makes sense, you totally blew it on that one. They always focus on zerging things instead of spreading out and trying to create fun fights for everyone, instead, they ruin them.

    Consistency.
    Fun.
    Personal growth.

This is why KOTV retains so many casual players, eventually turning them into good players.
We run platoons again and again with good action. We demand no joining requirements and no activity level.
But we encourage people to become more active, and to become leaders.
And we train those who do.
We train how to efficiently platoon lead. Who does what. How to attack and defend in a kazillion ways on different facility types. How to read maps, group psychology and so on.
Eventually, new leaders become good leaders.
And casuals become casuals trained to follow orders.

We have thousands of casuals, who, individually are average players, but their ability to follow orders FAST, combined with good leadership, is a deadly combo.
The reports of how we often arrive in multiple places at just the right times to get/prevent caps during alerts is a testament to that.
Being able to snap your fingers and have 43 public players in galaxies within a minute is something few can boast of. Less so with multiple platoons.
When a coordinator has air strikes, gal drops, redeploy reinforcement, anti-armor walls etc available, simply through his platoons abilities to respond and transform quickly, it changes the game.
And this is why KOTV fights with overpop. Because we can. Because taking or defending a facility FAST is a lot smarter than having slightly less ressources tied up there forever. It frees up more ressources for other attacks instead of defending perpetually.
But if your platoons are too slow, this is not viable, and you have to plan for long fights because you cannot depend on reinforcing temporarely.

I acknowledge people who take pride in small unit combat, but don't complain about people who'd rather win alerts than play equal fights.
We want equal fights. Nobody is gonna deny that taking the win just barely after a tough fight, is a lot more fun than just winning with no fight.
But we want them when we play at our very best, with winning as goal. Not because we put a handicap on ourselves.
So instead of complaining about us, complain about yourselves not being succesful at engaging people of all activity levels.

Because obviously you are able to judge them objectively. That is why you pretend to speak for every other non KOTV player on the server when not having met a tenth of them.

If KOTV was truly a terrible outfit randoms and other outfits would not join their platoons, and yet they do. And as proven by others and as I experienced myself playing both TR and NC, the other empires quite often try to outpop the other side. In fact there is one vocal TR outfit who always attacks KOTV on forums and reddit who does it by placing 50% pop on the hex pretending to be the good guys but at the same time have all other troops on adjoining hexes with tanks, snipers, etc shooting at the hex in question. So it would seem equal when really it is more than 75% overpop in that fight. So truly pot meet kettle.

Massive scale =/= dropping 2 platoons on 2 squads.

    LAWLS, you mean have too.

The average skill level in kotv is not very high.

Though you have a few very good players I have NEVER repeat NEVER seen kotv win with underpop or even even pop. In a pre or post ZOE time.

VIB, and IP put you to shame.

ok so the difference between VIB/ IP and kotv is that kotv accepts anyone , and actualy gives the low levels an oportuinity to develop some skill while working together in big groups , i m prty sure nobody from kotv claimed that we are a high skill low members outfit , now plz stop comparing apples with pears.
  15. bsgetsrealz

so trying to win alerts = getting fun fights and spreading out , i dont think so , if you want to win you have to be smarter thn that derpface. if we dont play alerts we will get into the equal fights to have some fun fights , now could you stop complaining about how we play the game as it is suposed to be played and instead start organizing your factions. hugs and kisses xxxxxxx

And that is why everyone dislikes your outfit. Because you think you are "better and smarter" than everyone else. Guess what, you don't have to be particularly good to win a 3:1 fight. And people join the outfit because they don't know any better. It is the same as every other MMO out there, you get a random invite to a guild (outfit) you click accept, since it's better than nothing.

When outfit recruiting comes along people will finally get a real choice of outfits that will hopefully make the game more fun.
So please, stop pretending you are some god sent outfit winning alerts because you are that damn good. Look at the population counters every now and then, the majority of the fights KOTV is involved in are 70% or more VS. Look at Esamir from time to time. It has been 45-60% VS pop for the past few months. Why does your leadership not assign people to go fight at the VS underpopulated Amerish but instead persist on Esamir?

KOTV on its own has managed to force the other factions off an entire continent (Esamir). Now, you may call this tactical superiority and gameplay, but the rest of us call it being a jerk and not letting others have fun.

I agree with you but you are making it seem like its a real war lol.
  18. maxkeiser

First - there is skill in itself in getting people to the right spot at the right time. KOTV are highly organised - something that the other factions perhaps don't have in the same quantity.

Second - Amerish is frequently dominated by 60%+ TR population. Esamir is mainly Vanu. Indar is often an even fight. The other night during an Esamir alert the Vanu and NC pops were EQUAL. Then vanu started to win (still with equal pop) and NC all left to go and play on Indar.

They CHOSE not to fight even with equal population.

It's quite simple - world population on Woodman is generally even (at least between NC and Vanu). If you want to take Esamir go and take it. Organise your faction to come and take on KOTV (and other Vanu outfits). The is is a sandbox game. You can go where you want with as many people as you want.

Nobody has forced you off anywhere - your faction just can't be bothered to organise and fight.

For me personally it is not about fun but more about destroying the unbelievers in the name of Vanu. They must either accept Vanu, give up or step up to the challange and stop whining.

You appear to have missed the point of the game - which is to win. KOTV is not trying to make 'fun fights for everyone'. The point is to win. War is like that.

PS2 also isn't a game of individual skill. It's not an arena game like counterstrike of Quake. PS2 is about mobilising troops in large numbers and getting them into a certain place to do roughly the right thing. PS2 is about the ordinary infantryman.

People looking for some kind of skill ego trip should probably be in a different game. In PS2, KOTV (and others) will simply drop another platoon to crush the more skillful (if that's what it takes).

That's the beauty of PS2 and why I love it so much (and yes, I've been on the end of countless overwhelming NC/TR attacks as well, so I know what it feels like). It's a SANDBOX. Everything goes with no limits on numbers.

People looking for 'fair fights' are in the wrong game. Stick to BF where you know what the teams will be.
