I just updated to windows 8.1 today (proper one, not the preview) and came across some weird RGB stuff that messed up planetside 2 when I tried to play it. For some reason, NVIDIA settings decided to turn on 'Stereoscopic 3D Settings" for the game for some reason. If you are getting the same issue here is how to resolve it: 1) Go to NVIDIA control panel 2) Stereoscopic 3D Settings on left panel 3) Turn it off 4) Gain certs
Thanks for the heads up -- my had turned itself on as well. So far 8.1 has pissed me off by deciding that my local login account no longer exists and only my hotmail account can log me into my computer. All of my settings and folders are there and everything works at least. Sort of... I had the built in mail program checking 6 accounts and now it ONLY knows my hotmail account. Good thing I use Thunderbird for my 'real' email client.
Also note -- if you use the Logitech software for a mouse (possibly keyboard as well), you will probably need to reinstall it after 8.1. Looks like 8.1 breaks the drivers, but a reinstall gets them up and running.
You're a hero! Thanks Posted to support thread: "Problem solved!! Meecatv published the solution in the Planetside 2 forums! Apparantly NOT a Win 8.1 problem, but NVidia forcing a setting, that didn't work. Thank you for this thread!!! I did the upgrade to windows 8.1 and apparently this stereoscopic 3d was turned on. It messed up the game badly. I changed everything on the in game settings and nothing helped, but this one did the trick. thanks so much for the help!!
------------------------- You're a life saver! I just upgraded to 8.1, not one of my better decisions, and when I ran PS2 I got this unplayable display, with red-blue separation and looking just like old fashioned 3D. This worked a charm. Thanks for this post.
