Why planetside 2 dont need SMG and what the art team should be working on instead.

    SMGs use pistol ammo, right?

    Watch, they won't even change the magazine size to reflect this. They'll use the same ammo as every other rifle, so they don't have to work on new animations

    That's a horrible idea, the repeater is better then the beamer or mag shot, but its still nothing a sane person would use against a carbine or lmg.
    Since launch I'v gotten a total of 22 kills with my knife, and only 7 with the repeater.

    Well they're going to be added soon. They were already in the beta. I'm guessing they were cut for update 2 to make that update have more content.

    I hope that's true. I would be so happy.
    Actually, I believe the classical characteristic of SMG is that they do not have firing restrictor--i.e. they only do full auto, similar to old machine guns.
