When I bought this weapon, I knew that it have low damage, that u can be kill by stay at place, Not good distance, but I thought that its 90-100% accuraty with skill. Haha))its not so(in this lancer more and more that it).
On start rocket cant be control.
It has worth control in any distanсe.
Its can be broken how any lock-on.
Its really hard to take harasser with this weapon - and u lol must ride yr mouse on half of table.
    Its not AA
These poor targets for this rocket launcher -
Maxes(in practice only will be assist)
    Turrets(o yeeee~!!!!!)
    Any tanks....

So why I must take this ugly weapon if
    standart lock-on weapon for 250 certs -
    shoot any tanks more good
will be more better damage and faster in any distance,
lesser risk to die at stay,
    more accuraty with skill

TR have right weapon only AA and AV and very good
VS have good weapon that with skill very good vs many targets
In practice Im play 90% of time by HA - so for me NC closed.

    Sorry for bad english.

From the opponent's perspective(I'm TR obviously) this Guided Rocket is far more versatile than any Lock-On and VERY effective(Though it might not always get Kills), I imagine as effective as MY opponents consider the Striker to be.... :p
Admittedly the Phoenix requires personal skill but if you've ever played any recent BF title, it's like the TV Missile. Once you've learned it it's actually good(And fun) enough that Lock-On alternatives pale. It's all about how it can be used and when, I'd say it's excellent in a Squad and when defending- Or for Recon, since you DO have a flying cam. Once you find out where that Sundie is, you can keep blasting it from safety. Just an example.

My opinion is that any person who plays by class HA wants a strong weapon, not safe weapon or weapon for intelligence. To kill hidden sunder by group its good but all the disadvantages forced to abandon of it

Phoenix can 1 hit lolpodding/hovering esfs with ease ,Phoenix can 2 hit Harassers , Phoenix can 3 hit MBTs from behind , Phoenix has NO ROCKET(bullet) DROP , Phoenix can snipe damaged Maxes and kill them , Phoenix snipe damaged infantry and kill them.

And it's most unique feature : Phoenix can be shot from behind cover and can HIT behind cover ,while Lock-ons are like begging to be shot in the head while aiming. + it's fun.

Try shooting a tank with a phoenix and HITTING THE SIDES , not the face/top/front.

the phoenix also has incredibly low dps so as long as there's a engineer or two around all it'll do is give them lots of XP, the poor range also kills it quite a bit.

2 hitting a Harasser implies that the rocket actually hits the damn thing, but that is much easier said than done. The same goes for ESFs, unless they don't pay attention, and stay still.

and its most unique feature is that it should ever only be shot from behind cover otherwise it'll make lock-ons look like MC Hammer.

also, it does have bullet drop if you exit camera mode.

it's a fun weapon but ultimately a bit inferior to the other ESRLs.

    This.

I've actually never been killed by a Phoenix since they were implemented; not once. BUT, they are great harassment tools. Considering how they operate, you can virtually stand around a safe corner, or at a safe distance, with a good ammo pack and just pick away at advancing lines. It's not as deadly as the Striker, but it's just as useful.

I rolled NC for a bit and the Phoenix was, in my opinion, the more fun of the two to use. Though my Thumper (I'm back to TR now) does prove a better anti-air deterrent -- a single rocket can cause flairs to drop, then you have four more rockets to pump out once you get a lock-on again.

But UGLY?! WHAAAA. Honestly, you probably haven't heard much of it, but the Phoenix from the receiving end sounds freaking awesome. You know exactly what's being fire at you (or past you) when a Phoenix is involved. Coolest sounding weapon in the game, honestly.

If I had a choice on all my HA toons, I'd probably generally carry the Striker (or maybe Lancer), but I'd certainly have the Pheonix (and quick loadout) for specific situations.

Its mostly better to use any other rockets over the phoenix rigth now it does so little damage that make it compleatly useless in 99 % of the situation also considerring that you have to stand still with absolutly 0 situational awwarness , if the phoenix as a much better hitting value it migth worth it ... Now it simply dosent no matter what you say i wont use it till they buff it and remoove the awefull anoying snow screen after detonation

The main issue with the Phoenix is its range. It totally ***** it as a AV weapon. An enemy tank has to be sitting in my lap before I can use a little skill to guide my very slow moving rocket to it. I also have to stand still until I hit my target! It can be hard to turn the rocket enough to get it on target and use decent cover if the tank is within the 300m range.

Where the striker, The second you see an ant sized tank in the distance I can lock on and begin strafing like a moron whilst unleashing small but trolling and still killing damage on my enemy. This is very very effective when you have 4-5 or even 3 TR in a group focusing the same tanks. It makes appoaching TR bases and towers in open terrain impossible with armor.

SoE say that increasing the Phoenix's range would mean the user having a wait a reload time to carry on guiding the rocket, I personally call BS! there has be a way around that otherwise the Phoenix is basically doomed unless it has a decent hike in damage and perhaps the abilty to speed/slow the rocket down.

If I'm hitting a static target or if my target is moving away the ablity to speed up the flight of my rocket is essential. This would maybe bring the DPS inline a little more with the striker and maybe even the lancer. I haven't used a Lancer so I cannot say much about that but it seems rare and either all the VS that use it are doing it wrong or it just isnt very good.

And it can be used as AA for those ESF's that like to hover, I have used to it take down enemy ESF's before, infact its one of its best uses next to taking out turrets.

In short it needs some work. Even making it dumb fireable would help bring it into more use for NC.

To be frank I do notice that I kill more infiltrators than tanks with the Phoenix. There are typically less medics near the squishy infantry to reduce the effectiveness of the measly rocket compared to trying to take out any vehicle who may have one or two engineers driving it.

That said, the nature of it not being a lock-on is a pretty nice factor. There is no warning bar the blue jet and the noise it makes, which makes it an awesome harassment tool or anti-hovering ESF rocket.

I'd trade my Phoniex for a Gauss Anti-Material Rifle in a heartbeat.

the phoenix should be change to be able to fly freely within 300M of the player, Also allowing the rocket to keep going after going out of range, instead of blowing up. This wouldn't be much of a distance boost since without guidance the rocket will fall straight down within 30M.

Also a speed up function would be great for hitting those fast moving targets.

One major downside of the phoenix which not a lot of people appear to know is that one bullet to this VERY SLOW moving rocket destroys it. ONE bullet from ANYTHING, meaning if you're in a sundy and you're getting hit by a phoenix you can just jump into your turret and shoot them down. It's VERY easy to do this, because it has to be coming straight at you 70% of the time.

    I still love it though.
  13. Deronok

You might be playing the wrong faction.
  14. Blarg20011

Ah, but you forget the most effective part of the Pheonix: That horrible screeching noise it makes. Oh god it's everywhere.
  15. DashRendar

Can't put a grammatically correct English sentence together. Spells Phoenix correctly  9/10 Bravo.
