1.SOE didn't thought this through, yet the event is still running with a clear winner. WHY?
    2. So now the opverpopulating faction even gets a fancy reward, for being all zergy n stuff? WHY?
    ( SOE really don't care? )

It's already been discussed way too many times as it is. Just let it go...

so after all the promoting, coding and dev involvement you expect them to just cancel it all before even the first weeks over because TR are winning?

you do know its going to be in sections right? and they intend to jig some things around during its (pre)season?

Also, two things. One, the other empires are also getting points. It's not as if it's a winner-takes-all event. Two, see this as an event where the devs can see the result of their population imbalance, and inspire maybe a plan to fix that. But such things take time.

What you ought to think about are these questions: Are you having fun? Are you still winning personal victories and getting good scores? Or is your fun in this game purely derived from winning like the TR are doing right now?

Because if you cannot answer "yes" to the first two, and only to the last question, I suggest you go back to CoD or something. Where your personal satisfaction doesn't rely on other people who have your back in a fight. Because right now just starting this discussion makes you disrespectful towards your faction.

    1. Yes i agree on the data that they can get (which can be seen clearly by now), BUT the overpop factions even get boost, n fancy stuff (and before you say it i dont really care about the boosts i have what i need), for the 4th factioners, and some new players who actually sniff around the forums first before, joining the winning faction for some free stuff and faster progression is a no brainer.

2.Depends on, because when you cant even get out of the WG (indar), and all you can see is "LOCK" the game starts to get a bit frustrating imo. I play the game to have fun, thats the whole point...but i like to play "FAIR" games....you know same chances for everyone?(and this is why i really hate this event, the best should win, not the one who has a ton of zerglings )
(And the game is massive, and its not only about personal victories you know., not every people is playing with the same mentality)

I bet you're super fun to hang out with. I love people who whine all the time.

Why couldn't you glance at the forums and respond to one of the several thousand existing threads about this? WHY?

Yes, let's terminate a competition because someone is winning! Unacceptable!

On a serious note though, if the devs don't see how global alerts are simply free exp for the overpop faction on a server, what makes you think they consider cross-server pop imbalance to be a problem?
  11. Grayson

The unacceptable thing is, that this is not really a competition, it's one sided.
There was a clear winner from the start, but this only shows the devs ignorance to the players, to the game...they only care about the $. ( Okay, they have to make money...but how can someone be a gamedev if they are ignoring the player who actually playing their creation)

It's the pre season. It's a test run with no added benefits for any empire, no bonuses or drawbacks for warpgate positioning, no bonuses or negatives attached to Empire population. It's a completely raw run to see what the numbers look like. To see what needs tweaking for when the Season begins good and proper. This is a test run of an interesting idea to see what, if anything, needs tweaking to create an even playing field for the proper run.

So this is a practice run. Nothing too serious and nothing to get all upset about and throw your toys out of the pram over. Let it run its course, wait for the pre-season to end and then we can give constructive feedback and post suggestions of what could be changed for when WDS starts for real.

Look, if anything it is showing the developers what a population advantage does. If anything it is giving them greater incentive to find a way to equalise the populations and create an evening playing field numbers wise. So be patient, it is not long to go now. Enjoy Planetside 2 as you would normally. This event is just a pre-cursor to bigger and better things in the future.

Or maybe they're implementing a different scoring system so they can avoid having to balance populations or design better balanced maps? And with luck the players will be fooled into thinking the game is balanced because the scores are balanced.

"We can't do anything about the north warpgate on Indar, it'd mess up the season scoring."

It's not the event itself. TR is dominating most of the servers for too long without the devs balancing this. TR has the numbers and the weapons. that whats makes this faction attractive to new players. This leads to TR winning nearly every alert and this leads to even more players join the TR. Many of us have enough certs end exp and don't care about the extra exp from the alerts. but new players do and they don't want to waste their time on NC or VS when a TR char can get the same exp in much less time.

This event is only a slap to the face for every other faction. it was clear from the start who will win this. And i don't think anything will change this the comming weeks. It's like you must be mad to not join the TR. As TR you will get several 3-day 50% boosts. What are they worth in the shop?

It's a funny thing to balance overpopulation by giving incentives to join the overpopped faction. Right now there is absolutly no reason to choose NC or VS but there are many many reasons to join TR.

Warp gate positioning decides too much.
