Why havent strikers been fixed yet?

Striker being bugged for a week is no excuse for how it has been for months. Flares not working at all after a lock has been acquired is at least as annoying, that doesn't mean flares are worse than fire extinguisher, it just means they are bugged, and you'll have to work around it until it gets fixed.

You don't see complaints about the dedicated lock on launchers, you don't see complaints about Annihilator (other than that it is too weak), you don't see complaints about Lancer, Phoenix, Decimator & standard launchers, only about the Striker. It's for a reason. It's not a conspiracy. It's just people who are tired of having the fun sucked out of the game by one launcher.

Striker is one of the main reasons my outfit members are either losing interest in the game or prefer to play TR for the time being. That can't be good for the game.

You do this a lot. Its funny though because you dont include the effect bugs and flares on the weapon Ai single shot over multiple shots. In fact you completely ignore it on purpose The multi shot advantage is pretty nice. You ignore the AI as well which allows the average guy to maybe get 1 or 2 hits in which makes them feel all warm and makes them feel their purchase was good. So they carry it more often. Compared to Anni which will miss and people give up.
Those striker assists are at least incoming xp compared to the Anni misses which give the perception its crap. (sadly)

This leads to the most important thing. People dont save up certs and get the Annihilator unless they are dedicated to their empire or about when it was strong. I know tons of people with phoenix because its fun to use. People just dont buy the Anni because its boring and a bit ****.
The Striker is a bit nicer but its still boring as hell to use. The fact is it has a much stronger rep within the community. I dont really care why this is but in the current state of play TR has many more multi function lock ons in the field and NC and VS. This is the problem with the striker perception but it has been a massive problem for the game. We all remember when everyone was using annihilator, that was a problem and they fixed it.

Honestly, the Lock on fix is needed and something i would bet u guys will enjoy a lot more but the OP was right. It shouldn't have been left this long because the perception has got stronger and stronger until Striker use got out of hand. However and easy fix wouldve been to drop the price of the Anni to 200 certs giving everyone and his goat access to it.

Now you can shoot your stats off like a monkey and maybe quote my anecdotal waffle above picking holes in it. If you cant get past that and see the striker use has been a problem for 3 months and then admit it. Your in denial.
  3. MGP

So you want it to be bugged for 6 months "to get even"? Not fixed? Okay.
I also very fond of your statement, what every TR player who DARE to use their ESAV is some kind of skilless noob. Mighty generalisation, but makes me wonder how old you are.

    Okay then, I'll shut up.
  5. NovaAustralis

    TR posters:
"Guys, guys! It's okay now, cos the Striker has been 'fixed', mmmkay. Just forget about all that time it was broken OP, mmmkay. Thanks"

I like how nobody noticed the 2nd order effect the Striker had on game-play, that of providing the TR with air superiority.
(I.e: When all the enemy aircraft are being downed by a broken OP weapon, your aircraft are free to what they please.)
The stats and hard data back this up.
(Nevermind all the VS and NC players providing their experiences...)

Yeah Striker/Lancer whatever, can't you even think for yourself that I might've made a mistake in writing Striker instead of Lancer?

You still need quite a bit less time in the zoom-view than with the Lancer, and with the Lancer you CAN actually shoot, finishing off some wounded infantry or whatnot (that's not defenseless). It just isn't possible with the Striker, at all. And feel free to ramble on about being defenseless against air with the Lancer, but it is actually possible to hit, or even destroy the baddies/slowies out there. That is not the definition of the word "defenseless". You are of course entitled to your opinion, but don't act like it is a fact.

You are once again only focusing on more damage and lack of aiming skill regarding the Striker, and then completely forgetting slower projectile velocities and pre-hit warnings, active countermeasures, a longer time in the zoom-view (and in ADS-mode in general), etc. etc. You cannot focus on just 1 property of the weapon and call it imbalanced solely due to that.
If you really want to focus on the pure damage output of the Striker: The DPS of the Striker is actually quite comparable to the Annihilator in the present iteration (172dps for the Striker, 155 for the Annihilator, again, see math above). Why don't you just use your own version of the Striker which does slightly less DPS for less downsides.

Would be nice if you didn't generalize like that, but I guess that's what everyone does these days ;)
I have expressed sympathy for the situation multiple times at least, and I guess I am what you would designate as a "TR poster".

It's called the annihilator 2.0 for a reason. We can do the exact same thing the striker does with the annihilator (establish an anti vehicle bubble). Infact we DID that exact thing, and periodically as a faction have been forced to use it because the striker was broken (read: not working broken). We spent weeks with a premium weapon that actually did zero damage.

Also you should note the current (and past) strikers work as intended mechanically client side. They reacted properly versus smoke (flares were broken for a little while, allowing instant lockons, but this applied to ESlockons as well), and attempted to negotiate terrain and obstacles.

The reason it looked wacky from the receivers perspective is the same reason the phoenix doesn't render properly. The reason it doesn't actually matter is because YOU can't do anything about it. It either hits or it doesn't on our end (same way you get shot around corners).

And as for 'game breaking' faction specific abilties. We've had just as much fun fighting jesuszoe's, super magriders, instakill vorteks and a whole host of ****. Hell our goddam tank didn't work for 4 days.

You don't even know 'broken OP'. The Striker does nothing the Annihilator doesn't do, and many TR have successfully argued for using the Anni over the Striker in the past. There was nothing OP or broken about it. There is now. Once again it barely works.

Well then! Instead of whining i got a great idea on how to do the Lancer a bit more userfriendly! (especially against air)
When you charged Lancer for 3s instead of auto-shooting the projectile it should read "OVERCHARGING!" and give the vehicle or plane thats closest to the middle, a Lock-on warning! The plane/tank now have 3seconds while Lancer charges all 6 shots to: either flare/smoke or break LOS, or it gets instantly hit by 2500 damage...
  9. axiom537

  10. Slandebande

2500damage reduced by resistances of course, and if you by "closest to the middle" mean you are actually aiming close to something then sure. Likewise, the damage would also have to be split into 5 parts compromising 20% of the damage, giving the target more time to get away before taking full damage, and the projectile velocity would also have to be reduced. Lastly, the maximum range of the automatic range finding should be reduced to 500m for aircraft and 400m for ground vehicles. But don't get your hopes up, the Striker is boring as frick to use, and a Lancer utilizing the same mechanics would also be boring as frick to use.

Or you could just use the Annihilator which is very comparable to the current Striker iteration, whilst still leaving the option of getting Lancer utility open, something which we TR don't get.

I can't believe so many would want the Striker for themselves, when it is perhaps the least rewarding (fun-wise) weapon to use in the game. Would you seriously take just another lock-on to your ESRL?
  11. DerpMode

So.. your solution to balancing ESRL is to make the Lancer exponentially stronger? Or did the striker received a stealth buff within the last 2 mins that does instant 2500 damage? Last time i checked you can flare (when they are not bugged of course) after the first rocket to make sure it's a Striker (damage received) and negate the last 4.

You should be a game designer, plummeting companies into bankruptcy would satisfy every gamer out there.
  12. Vixxing

To get free 500m air denial with 2 HA? Who wouldnt?
And the changes you implemented to my Lancer: well with those changes full chargetime should be reduced to roughly 2.25 seconds...

  13. Vixxing

Didnt you read? you have 3seconds to flare/smoke before you get insta hit! thats about average flight time for strikers (hell make it 4 seconds then!)
  14. EnviousCipher

    1. I've got a VS alt with the Lancer.
    2. As i mentioned, it requires numbers.
    3. VS players seem to think the only time you should pull Lancer is when you're specifically setting up a Lancer squad, so there are never numbers.

The Lancer makes ESF nope-the-**** outta the airspace like a Lockdown Burster Max. Don't want to use it effectively? Fine, just don't ***** about TR's weapon that is ultra effective en-masse too.

  15. Slandebande

Well, I wouldn't, thought that would be obvious?

Don't make me laugh. First of all, if you get a 500m air denial radius you need full vision of your surroundings, usually meaning high ground. If you stand on high ground firing 2 Strikers off at random aircraft in a contested zone, you are about to get a very bad surprise by the aircraft on the receiving end. But according to you, anyone using the Striker becomes immortal, whilst being able to kill any and all aircraft right? At least your example of 2 HA's gaining air-superiority is not feasible, unless the enemy has like 1 aircraft in the sky. You also need a 3rd person acting as engineer to supply endless ammo to them! ;)

Second of all, sure reduce that charge time, all you will have gotten is another Striker, which will never destroy my tank nor my Mosq (not that I fly that often, but still). I couldn't care less.
  16. Vixxing

It takes a Lancer 22s to kill an ESF parked on the ground! (now try it on one that moves AND stays around for 22s when you hit 100%)
  17. EnviousCipher

    Keyword: A Lancer. Singular. One.

That is the exact WRONG way you use that weapon, and is exactly NOT the way TR use the Striker. The Lancer is also a direct impact weapon, you don't have to wait for a lock on, you can mag dump into it, there is no countermeasure other than noping out of the area.

You are, quite literally, doing it wrong.

  18. Vixxing

It would be nice for BR1 VS to be able to defend themself against the "1337!" Mossy pilots thats now farming them, just as effectivly as any BR1 TR can take down BR100 Libs atm... (one flare then you need to turn the LIB on a dime and be gone OR 100% you will get hit!)

P.s Libs cant turn on a dime...
  19. DerpMode

Two times more damage from what? It's only 1000 over the Grounder, split in 5 parts and adding over the Nemesis or HAWK it's like you said "you don't know if it's 1 or the whole server". The Striker's so gamebreaking that i used/use only versus armor zergs, it's power is spilling so much out that a AP shell to my face would kill me faster than i have time to spit the third rocket. Yes it is effective, it's suppose to be effective, just like the Lancer and Pheonix it has it's niches.
The only advantage our mossies and libs have over the NC/VS is that you guys don't pull out your ESLock-on. Seriously is it really expensive to buy a 250Cert all purpose-G2A RL and use it? Flares don't have 0 CD at max rank and what can be done with the striker can be done with other lock ons to.

Fracture is a AV weapon soon to be nerfed versus infantry. Not sure how our fractures will surpass Comets or Raven after. Marauder is a special cupcake, uncontested a top AI weapon while the NC gets a silly shotgun; can't argue with you there. Vulcan... ah yes the practical chaingun that can kill anything if it's under 50 at most 70 meters. Then we have the Sauron, a semi-auto no drop anti-anything weapon as long as people can land hits.
Regarding "metric performance" let's talk about infantry weapons. Like the SVA-88, 'God'Saw, GD-7F, Orion, Jackhammer, Lasher, Betty's and ProxyMines against Claymores, Lockdown against Aegis and ZOE, etc etc and so much more.
  20. Vixxing

Lol tried magdumping a lancer? Even better hitting an ESF magdumping it? The spread is horrible and damage is like 100/shot? ANY LMG > Lancer in shooting down ESF that way i guarantee you that... (btw its blatantly obvious you never used a Lancer, you should you know? b4 you talk about it! i used Striker lots of times!)
