Why does Planetside 2 use up a lot of my download limit? Is there a way to stop it?

    Limited internet in Australia? Oh.
I live in Ukraine(third world country.. kind of) and I have unlimited 100mbit internet for 5$ a month.

Back to topic - just checked. ~100-150mb in hour.

    1.4GB of data?

Looking at my data usage for the past eight hours.. I don't see a trend that follows yours. You might want to check for other people on your network.

Lies, Eve is the most intense action based game ever. Why one time I mined so much ore it would knock your socks off right through your bowler.

You'll watch your tone with me sonny, I'm a veteran of 5 interstellar Goon battles.

Just confirmed. With nothing else running, over 10 minutes of a pretty big battle, I used almost 25mb download.
So in an hour it would be roughly 100-150mb per hour. Hmm..that still sucks pretty bad for me still.
    **** Australia sucks

I recommend they removing the spotting feature to reduce data usage and also because its dumb thanks

Eastern European countries have god-tier bandwidth from what I've heard. It isn't really fair to compare your standards to other countries because of how far ahead you are.

I played about 5 hours yesterday and used less than a gig... i dont think its the game, maybe someone else is piggybacking on your wireless

Dont forget voip. A daily ts session eats up 2-3 gigs alone for me.
But that should be far less here

But then again, who knows how proximity is handled here

Yeah that's what I measured. In-game usually sucks up between 30-40KB/s for me. That is roughly 105-145MB per hour.

Im now in same situation and figuring what to do. Does it help to lower the res or video settings? I was on t1 which still sucks by today s standards but they put it in while company disconnected by mistake and must have gave my circut to someone else. In mean time wtf is out there? I would thing less detail = less data streaming. Sucks cause was used to everything maxed. So for you guys using the G4 or G3 in California, (Ventura area). Any suggestions? Heard satellite is out of the question. thanks much and good luck to all.

I lived in Sydney for a while and played games over 3g and have played on 3g back here in the UK. It was my experience that you had to make sure you had a really good signal or it would resend the data packet from the tower to dongle or vice versa until it was received properly. Meaning you're computer says the connection has sent/received more data than you actually needed to to play.
